Well, the whole point is, take North Dakota for instance. . . In a bad flu season, they have the same problem. We live in a system that is profit driven with limited resources, so there are just barely enough facilities and staff, and no excess.

It is about initial capacity to begin with. There isn't a lot there. So yeah, it is a lot of hyperbole just to scare folks. Something should probably be done to beef up capacity during a surge, but it should not be an excuse to increase totalitarianism.


You are right, it isn't really a crises of huge proportions necessitating an emergency government take over, or the revocation of folks civil rights and civil liberties. They didn't do it with the flu, we don't need to do it now.
