How is it that if both sides are bought by business, they have have entirely different ideological and economic policies positions?

No they are not, not on the fiscal side of things they are not.
We should always secure the border. Now, knowing even Taliban are sneaking in. It's a shame for decades we didn't have to. Migrants would walk in, pick fruit for us, then walk home. It wasn't until companies started hiring them for other jobs like airport workers, mcd, working year round at mara lago, housekeeping, painters. Before Reagan, employers wouldn't dare hire illegal workers. Reagan signaled to them he wouldn't go after illegal employers. And I've shown you before Clinton raided 400 and Bush's 2nd year he raided 4. Shows you Bush was continuing the attack on expensive American labor. Even non union Americans ask for too much if you ask Corporate America. And you don't pay enough in taxes. They do according to them.

I'm all for people in office cutting spending dramatically. Do you see that most Americans support dramatic cuts in spending?

Oh, I do agree that "we the people" do not want spending cuts, in fact I honestly doubt you do since I bet you have never voted for anyone that has done so.

I have to vote for the best of the bad choices.
I didn't vote for Trump in 2016, because I thought he'd be an over spender, and support other left-wing policies. He was a Democrat for decades after all.
But on election day, I have to pick which I think would do the better job.
They already pay the bulk of the bill, but here's reality, you could confiscate every dollar in income from the wealthy above any arbitrary level and not make a significant dent in the government's red tape, and you could only do it once.
So, corporations can get richer?
