Them eggs ain't gettin' no cheaper

My local stores prices finally hit $5.99 per dozen eggs.

Strange thing is...........the last time this happened, the cartons of LIQUID eggs were still like $2.00 - $3.00 a carton.

Apparently the production companies "fixed" this, this time around.............

I saw an old couple in the store yesterday looking at eggs.
She was looking at the half dozen packs of eggs for $3.00.

What a shame.

With Easter coming up, I doubt many grandmas will be making Easter cakes and cookies this year.
Much less the beloved Deviled Eggs.
which president called for the killing of millions of chickens? hint: not Trump.

Just wait in 8 to 10 weeks for cake can be replenished. In any h with r two hopefully they s will be home story. They need to bird proof those Morton long buildings that they house the chickens in. Seys of double doors like they have in aviaries would also be a good investment.
Correction, my egg farmer neighbor says it takes 18 to 22 weeks to go from chick to laying hen depending on the breed. We will have to wait a bit longer for the price of eggs to drop.

I bet you won't backup your claim...... :auiqs.jpg:
I looked it up. It's not a law , it's considered a recommendation and the owner does not have to destroy the entire flock , just urged to do so. The liability laws probably make everyone comply. A lawsuit could ruin a business. So far no one has refused to comply. It's just good business.

That's actually amazing....chickens are actually an invention. Bred from wild foul. It may be the most important invention in history frankly.
18 to 22 weeks? Then four to five years of production. Up to five eggs a week for some of them.

It's a FDA matter , presidents have nothing to do with it. And on trump's watch 40 million have been destroyed already.
The thing is, eventually the eggs will become cheaper. In fact, people in government realize there is an issue and are most likely behind the scenes attempting to right the issue. Like infant formula, Joe did not care.

Mandatory.......better look again.

New York CNN

Those “killings” are required by the Department of Agriculture to contain the spread of the highly contagious avian flu that has afflicted 100 million birds since 2022, according to the American Farm Bureau Federation.
_______________
AI Overview

Yes, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has ordered the destruction of chickens to prevent the spread of bird flu. This is a long-standing practice.

BTW - posted from my Android phone.

The jungle fowl is still native to southeast Asia in the wild. About 27 billion chickens worldwide. It is an amazing achievement.

NOT a political issue. Bird Flu is infecting huge flocks of birds and once that is detected from a flock the whole flock is destroyed
I do not know the exact total figures but last quarter alone 20 million were destroyed.

Seems Bird-Flu Missed Mexico and is Only Impacting the U.S.

While, the CDC and USDA dither about handling the bird flu in America and cull millions of Chickens and Cows, there is a sudden spike and epidemic of Measles in Texas and New Mexico.
It appears that the war on meat is mostly focused on red meat and based on the Neo-Marxist Democrat ideas of “climate change”. Now, there seems to be a war on chickens, for lack of a better description. It’s “Bird Flu”. Now chicken, and particularly eggs, are significantly inflated in price due to scarcity.

Keep pedaling the bullshit for all the good it will do you.

I have high hopes that President/King Trump will rebuild our chicken populations and eggs will come back down in price. Just like he saved the other animals 😊
