God's Word shall endure for ever. His Word shall stand for ever and ever. The Word of God is a sure foundation. A help in time of trouble. A light unto our path. Our counsellor, our comforter, our teacher, our guide, our deliverer, our assurance, our hope, our salvation. The Word of the LORD endureth forever.

Psalm 37
Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.

Trust in the LORD, and do good;so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.

Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
Cease from anger, and forsake wrath:fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.

For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.

For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be, yea thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be. But the meek shall inherit the earth, and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth. The Lord shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming. The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation.

Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.
A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.

For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the LORD upholdeth the righteous. The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever. They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.

But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the LORD shall be as the fat of lambs, they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away. The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous showeth mercy, and giveth.

For such as be blessed of him shall inherit the earth; and they that be cursed of him shall be cut off. The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.

Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.

I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed.

Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore. For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints, they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.

The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever. The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment.

The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.
The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him.
The LORD will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.

Wait on the LORD, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.

I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree.
Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not: yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.

Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.

But the transgressors shall be destroyed together:
the end of the wicked shall be cut off.

But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: he is their strength in the time of trouble.

And the LORD shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.

Be not deceived. God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption: but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well doing, for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
Galatians 6:7-10

The Word of the Lord is Jesus Christ. And He truly will endure forever.

Yes, Jesus Christ is the Word who became flesh. John Chapter 1 reveals Jesus Christ as the Word and He surely shall endure forever. He has no beginning and no end. He is the Lord God Almighty.

Scriptures for the hour we are living in.

Give glory to the LORD your God, before he cause darkness, and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains, and, while ye look for light, he turn it into the shadow of death, and make it gross darkness.
Jeremiah 13:16

Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.
Isaiah 60:1

For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
Isaiah 60:2

O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the LORD.
Isaiah 2:5

Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward.
Isaiah 58:8

Don't you mean one or more of the 47 midieval scholars commissioned by King James with special instructions intended to guarantee that the new English version would conform to the ecclesiology and reflect the episcopal structure of the Church of England and its belief in an ordained clergy? :dunno:

No. Had the LORD not ordained the Bible to be in our hands - it would not be in our hands, Cap. God is in full control. That is the message of this thread. Man can make whatever plans he wishes to make but he should realize that God is in full control. The wicked are merely a sword in God's hand. See Psalm 17:13. Again, I say, God is in full control and He always will be.

Well, granting that Isaiah actually existed in OT times, it's a pretty safe bet that he didn't speak or write in archaic English (re: "endureth"). ;)

Let me ask you this question. If he said, the Word of the LORD stands for ever. Would you agree that quoting him as saying the Word of the LORD endureth for ever - would give us a fairly good idea of what he meant?

Listen to this, Capstone. I love this Psalm. This is Psalm 15. (KJV)

LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh truth in his heart.

He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.

In whose eyes a vile person is contemned, but he honoureth them that fear the LORD, He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.

He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent.

He that doeth these things shall never be moved.

Well, let me ask you a question: if somebody else had asked you, "who talks like that?", with specific reference to the archaic English word "endureth", and your answer was a biblical figure who most certainly did NOT "talk like that", would your answer make you a bold-faced liar or just too plain ignorant for your own good?

"Endureth" isn't used in the King James Version of that particular scripture. It reads, "Stands for ever". Look it up. (Endureth is the modern translation - not the "archaic one" - I didn't mention it earlier as I didn't want to embarrass you).

I believe it was chosen by bible scholars for the modern translation as they believed that "endureth" would have been the word - Isaiah would have used - in that verse. Your issue would be with them, not me. I merely answered Guno's question, Cap.

Did you read Psalm 15? Beautiful, isn't it? That's King James Version.

Not to totally confuse you, Capstone, but here (KJV) King David writes in Psalm 105:5:

For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

______
As King David used the word endureth it is most likely that Isaiah did also.
Note the word Endureth here:

And I merely pointed out that your answer, "Isaiah", was bullshit, because, even if he existed in OT times, he certainly didn't "talk like that" (I.E. in archaic English). This is true, regardless of when or by whom the word "endureth" was transliterated, whether by midieval scholars (as it was in a number of 1611 KJV passages) or by modern idiots still clinging to the far more flowery archaic English.

...the point being: no matter whose interpretation/transliteration we're talking about, it wasn't Isaiah who "talk[ed] like that".

Nighty night.

I want to make sure I got this correct.

When these Christians talk of the word, they are talking about Jesus and not the words in the Bible, right?
