I don't doubt that some mental therapists do so some good work.

But more or less, the whole field of mental health is just nonsense. It's just a way to label people for having some mental problem or another, when in reality every individual is just trying their best to go about this imperfect life and survive in whatever way they can.

Notice how mental health people are quick to label anyone with a different viewpoint, or somebody who complains about this or another, as having a disorder. If this were true, virtually every scientist, for example, would have had a mental disorder. The American founding fathers would have had a mental disorder.

And notice how they never label the people who genuinely have mental disorders (corporate psychopaths, religious nutcases) etc. as having one. If you believe the only goal in life is to make as much money as possible, screwing everyone in the process, or if you believe the omnipotent creator of the universe is going to punish you for all eternity unless you give more money to the preacher, you are considered mentally healthy.

Mental health, like so much else in this world, is about one thing: conformity to the corporate economy. "Work more and consume more". That's the ideal of mental health in their view.

If you have other ideas and pursue your own path, you are considered disordered or worse, insane and possibly criminal.

You are incorrect about psychology. It, unlike climatology and sociology actually has measurable processes and standards. Some psychologists are good, some are not, but if you are having problems, and you get a psychologist that is suited to you, the results can be very positive.

Having a good grasp of human psychology increases your quality of life. It applies to all interactions that you have with other human beings.

Have you ever gone to a counselor? What is behind the text? Do you have experiences with them or one?

YOu seem to have problem with a label. That would be necessary to follow a program that would address your symptoms. Labels are not bad. They help diagnose the problem.

You know the very 1st thing they teach you in a psyh class 101 is blind trust.
They have you stand up and ask you to fall backwards expecting that each one would be caught before falling backwards.

Trust needs to be earned.
Anybody who trusts blindly like that usually gets screwed.
