1) I know all that, but Superbro called me a liar for saying my parents went to school (starting in the 30s) and college (in the 40s) with black classmates.
2) When did I ever deny segregation was happening in some regions of the country, or claim that it was separate but equal?!
Well apparently, you DON'T know "all that" because it was not that segregation was happening in SOME regions of the country. The whole United States was
LAWFULLY RACIALLY SEGREGATED until the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
You may be able to recall and cite the text but it's woefully apparent you haven't the faintest clue what the implications were otherwise you wouldn't still be trying to convince people that your family was on the same level as or worse off than the Black people who already were living here when your people arrived. "We ascended to upper middle class status in a single generation by doing XYZ, why can't Black people " (then you go into your spiel about unwed Black women and all the rest)?
You keep insisting that racism had nothing to do with any this but the ENTIRE COUNTRY WAS UNDER
LAWFUL RACIAL SEGREGATION. That's the part you keep pretending you don't understand which is why it keeps coming up again and again.
3) You are so eager to deflect from the fact that many blacks did indeed go to school with whites 100 years ago - and that Superbro called me a liar for saying that the blacks in my parents’ neighborhood had the same educational opportunities as my parents. Now will you admit that the educational opportunities available to my poor Jewish parents in NYC were the SAME as those available to the blacks in the same city?
No one is saying that it's impossible that there were Black students who attended school with your grandparents. What's impossible is that they were had completely equal opportunities, advantages and lack of pains & punishments that their white classmates had. Acknowledging that doesn't take anything away from your family accomplishments which is why it's so confounding that you can't see this.
4) You’re trying to get me to refute or defend things I never said. C’mon…..you know I’m smarter than to fall for your sneaky tactics.
I don't ever need to TRY to get you to do or say anything. I can prove my point(s) by simply quoting you directly in the form of screenshots showing your comments, even if you asked the moderators to delete them because oftentimes your original postings still show up in my responses. Funny that you consider THAT being sneaky while you're the one trying to hide the things you've posted by having the moderators delete them.
And P.S. My family wasn’t viewed as white - they were viewed as Jews. And their lives were pretty impacted by that.
So which is it? They ascended alone & unassisted as a result of their own hard work & intelligence to upper middle class and professional careers in a single generation (or 10 years whichever is shorter) or they were pretty impacted by it? I mean how much could they have been impacted if they achieved all that you've stated in a single generation, but nonetheless as far as the U.S. government was concerned, they were white. Once again, this is what you're not getting:
