Well, I hope you make some headway. I’m not saying change isn’t needed, I’m just not sure PR is the way to go in America.
Then what is the way to go in America?

I doubt you have an answer for this.

I doubt you even understand PR.

The system the founders laid out for us, in its ORIGINAL format.

See, the founders put together this puzzle that, when all the pieces are in place, the puzzle shows a picture, you start removing pieces from that puzzle, it no longer serves its purpose.

I don’t like the LR idea because I think it would favor democrats, and they would wrest control of the country permanently. In America, people will find ways to manipulate any system and I think the PR system would end up with many democrat favored coalitions and few republican favored coalitions.

In our current system, we have a pretty even split of Republican and democrat presidents, and congress changes hands pretty frequently as well. At the end of the day, it’s only one of two parties in power, and I don’t see that ever changing, because of partisanship. So, at the federal level, if you are a democrat voter and your party controls the executive and legislative branches, you are pretty much having your voice heard.

Also, I’ve never seen anyone suggest a change to the voting system unless it was in favor of their own party, so, yes, I’m skeptical of any change, even if it favors my own party.
