The video I just saw from the trial of the Floyd incident with the audio of the crowd around looked pretty bad

Has anyone seen that specific video before? With the crowd pleading with police? I had not.

It will be a great day in America when the typical Trump voter watches the video and lets their humanity overcome their political obsessions.

what I learned in the trial that really pisses me off is that the justice department has long warned police departments to get a handcuffed suspect off their stomach when laying on the ground with arms restrained behind their back. The diaphragm and lungs have no room to expand and difficulty in breathing would be next to impossible even without the added restraints of a knee on the neck and a second police officer on his back and third officer on his legs. Justice department guidelines also state a person in this position being unable to breathe have natural reactions to jerk and try to raise up and this could be mistaken as evidence that they are continuing to try to resist.

And another thing that pisses me off that we learned from the trial is the first arriving officers we’re so quick to pull their weapons on George Floyd and he panicked. It’s all over a $20 counterfeit bill and there are proper procedures on that if it is not already would be get get his name and ID tell him that detectives will be following up. We are not here to arrest you. There is the possibility that he didn’t know it was counterfeit. I know the racists in the world will never except that and he may have known but it seems very strange to me that he and two other friends having spent a counterfeit bill hung around at the scene long enough for cops to arrive.

But even after that and the scuffle inside the police car there is no justification for holding a man down with a knee on the neck like that for more than one minute. You talk to him and give him a chance to stop resisting and if he does resist you restrain him again. You don’t kill him. And I think Chauvin killed him intentionally because even when when he was told thatFloyd had no pulse the stayed on for two more minutes and then even the EMS medic had to kind of pull his knee off the neck after Floyd has long since been dead. It looks like to me chauvin was trying to teach the people watching what happens if you try to resist arrest and he just didn’t give a damn if he was killing somebody to do it.

Floyd kept saying he can't breathe and refused to stay in the patrol car thrashing himself around and hurting himself. They let him out and still he kept resisting and acting looney.



No sound but you can see the cops were not abusing Floyd and, in fact, one was a person of color.

Floyd refused to stay in the patrol car, was screaming and thrashing around. If he would have not done that, they would not have taken him out of the car and subdued him. They were afraid he'd severely injure himself which, in hindsight is pretty ironic. He'd still be alive today and the burning of cities would not have happened.

His resisting was over. He posed no threat anymore.

Yet, one officer used his discretion to remain kneeling on Floyd's neck for nearly 10 minutes.....with about 5 minutes of those 10 occurring after Floyd had quit breathing.

'Resistance'.....even 'escalated' resistance......is subject to degrees.
And law enforcement's response is tied to proportionality.

What happened to Floyd was a criminal homicide.
What flavor of homicide will be determined by the jury and the judge.

floyd didn't pass out---he went unconscious as the drugs suppressed his lungs which lead to cardiac arrest. He loss consciousness and died. Cops shouldn't be expected to baby violent criminals....

floyd was a huge man capable physically and morally of harming people...the cops did what they saw was necessary to put this violent criminal down where he couldn't hurt anyone--which was to constantly hold him on the ground...they didn't know that he had overdosed and was dying nor should anyone expect them to be monitoring violent criminals for dying from their drug abuse. Their job is to keep the public safe and themselves--not baby huge violent criminals.
