The US was the best prepared nation when it comes to the virus.

no no we arent....running outta ppe...not shutting it down sooner...like south korea and taiwan did...

While you're correct we weren't the best prepared SK didn't shut down they issued everyone a mask for free (even though the CDC says it don't work) but they do according to many doctor's I've spoken with in the past few days. Oh, and when someone tested positive they tracked them.

This. We had a chance to get a lid on this from about January 22nd - January 31st. But, it was more important to campaign and shadow the Democrats running against him.
A lost opportunity when the problem would have been much more manageable. Something that I would expect would happen with anybody sitting in that chair not named Trump.
So tell us, what more could have been done? Joe sure thought no restrictions should be done-
“This is no time for Donald Trump’s record of hysteria and xenophobia — hysterical xenophobia — and fearmongering,” said Biden the day after the travel restrictions were imposed.

Biden later claim that as president he too would have made the hard decision to institute the travel bans that hindsight showed successful.

CNN ran a story warning that “the US coronavirus travel ban could backfire” and have the effect of “stigmatizing countries and ethnicities.”

The Chinese Communist Party’s official mouthpiece, the People’s Daily, called the ban “racist.”

WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus warned it would increase “fear and stigma, with little public health benefit.”
When Trump announced a coronavirus task force with the most eminent experts in the nation, CNN blasted him for a “lack of diversity.”

Guiding Trump’s response is a hardheaded nationalism. On January 31, the administration announced strict travel bans: Most foreign nationals who’d recently been to China were barred from entering the U.S., and Americans were warned to stay clear of the country. These measures—which career public-health officials argued were needed to delay the virus’s spread—broke with guidance from the World Health Organization, which did not recommend curbs on travel or trade. The restrictions did, however, reflect the alarm coming from Trump’s base.

Inside the administration, some officials maintain that China has not shown needed cooperation or transparency as the virus has spread. “This has been a signal failure of the Communist Chinese Party in handling the crisis,” Peter Navarro, a senior Trump trade adviser who is part of the administration’s effort to combat the outbreak, told me. “The CCP suppressed information early to both the U.S. and Chinese people. This delay allowed the virus to proliferate much faster than it otherwise would and reach other countries that it might otherwise have not.”
But critics from WHO and elsewhere have said the bans are unnecessary and could generate a racist backlash against Chinese people. One Chinese foreign official asked of the U.S.: “Where is its empathy?”

Queue an immediate pivot to Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders. Two people who at last glance (unless I've fallen into a time warp) were not President. But aside from Biden's political style stump tweet, what did he say that has been proven to be wrong in light of the information pouring in over the last two weeks. Just pointing that out because the tweet was sent the morning after Trump delivered his disaster of a speech to try and re-assure the nation the night before. Needless to say, it wasn't a beautiful success. :)

No, by January 31st, the horses had already left the barn. Trump was in Davos on January 22nd, dismissing the virus and saying it would be under control in the US. This is an older article (by the virus outbreak standard). We also know that definitive action wasn't taken until March 13th. That's when Pence and the experts had to step in to prevent this from becoming a catastrophe.

Course if you listen to our media this would never be known.

Seems that study has some flaws once it is put to the test.

As Trump was saving America, Joe Made sure that everyone knew how racist he thought saving Americans is. It's the land of immigrants, not the land of Americans.

Course if you listen to our media this would never be known.

And it appears that neither of these groups knew what they were talking about.

If you were the best prepared, how is it that the USA will have the most cases in the world in a matter of days? Why are hospitals out of supplies and beds?

Where is your plan to slow transmissions?

Trump’s a socialist. I thought you disliked socialism. What’s up?

If US was well prepared, why is the economy shut down any few Americans are working?

LOL. No, it's not. It's a Fox news fluff-up-Trump piece built on cherry picked data. All it took was a visit to the linked site to figure out it was a ranking based on data collected largely before the Trump administration started implementing their cuts and dismantling the agencies that could have helped with this outbreak. If you are honest and objective, look around, do you really think that we were prepared for this? South Korea was prepared for this. Japan was prepared for this. China flattened its curve by force. Unfortunately for us, you get what you get when you have a reality TV star as President.

The Fox piece is just an attempt to explain away Trump's myriad of failures, inaction, and incompetence.
But spin away, I've gotten off the ride. Ran out of dramamine.

What does Fox have to do with the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security?

He was saying the response was under control! Geeesh, you guys just can’t help yourselves, can you?

If you were the best prepared, how is it that the USA will have the most cases in the world in a matter of days?

Maybe because we have 320 million people with millions living in densely packed areas like NYC and LA?

Why are hospitals out of supplies and beds?

Which hospital has run out of beds?

Where is your plan to slow transmissions?

Did you happen to notice that well over half the country is under a shut down order, Dragonbreath, or did that escape your attention?

Trump and the Hive Mind are positively schizophrenic.

One the one hand, they were calling the coronavirus a hoax. Nothing to worry about. No worse than the flu.

At the very same time, they are mad at China for supposedly not taking the coronavirus seriously.

If these tards had any cognition, their heads would explode from the internal contradictions.

Have you noticed Trump was slow to act, and even now is talking about getting back to business and packing our churches in 18 days?

If the study by the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security is flawed, explain how.

Your conclusions would seem to be incorrect when you compare us to China.

Bones I truly admire you but we are not South Korea or Taiwan and we are a Republic of Fifty States, so shutting down would take a massive effort that most Presidents would not be able to accomplish.

I know many see South Korea and Taiwan response without putting those countries Government up against ours and when you do then you realize the task that you are demanding is almost impossible if State Governors, County Officials and City Mayors do not comply...

The thing about South Korea and Taiwan is they like to wear masks over there when there isn’t a pandemic. It’s not really fashionable over here. So when a pandemic did hit, they just wore masks more. To the point of businesses refusing service if you weren’t wearing one. Testing doesn’t really do shit against this, because it’s believed the amount of asymptomatic carriers is even higher than expected, a 2 week incubation period, non-direct transmission, and the fact that people don’t really volunteer for self testing until they have symptoms, or have close contact to someone that does. At that point it’s already too late. You know what does help, restricting travel, AKA quarantines.
