In a Republic, actually
“The attack, which even in its first few hours has taken a devastating toll on Ukraine and its people, also will be seen as a turning point in the careers of those who supported Vladimir Putin—from the oligarchs now scrambling to keep their superyachts from being seized to cynical America political leaders who have since 2016 offered a chorus celebrating and defending the Russian president.
[…]
Now, [Putin] is mentioned in the same breath as the last man to shatter the peace of Europe, Adolf Hitler. Putin, again, even aided in this analogy when he used the same lies to justify his invasion of Ukraine that Hitler had used to justify entering the Sudetenland in 1938. (Hitler lied that Sudeten Germans were being persecuted by the Czechs, Putin said the same of Russians in Ukraine.)”

And those cynical Republican politicians who celebrated and defended Putin – who continue to defend Putin – are just as culpable.

"John Deni (Wall Street Journal, 12/22/21): 'The West ought to stand firm, even if it means another Russian invasion of Ukraine,' because even though 'the human toll will be extensive… the long-term damage suffered by Moscow…is likely to be substantial as well.'"

How many more innocent lives will be sacrificed on the altar of Wall Street Greed?

Any liberal who whines about this, but is too cowardly to fly straight to Kyiv and join the fight is a hypocrite.

The Ukraine government is passing out weapons, you should be willing to die on the Russian Tundra for your hero, Brandon.

No one is defending Putin.

We are saying the idiot in the White House....the one who went to bed the night Russia invade Ukraine...the one who isn't in the Situation Room this weekend, he's in the living room of his mansion in Delaware...the one who screwed us out of energy independence and now finances Russia by buying Russian oil YESTERDAY...the guy who halted US oil and gas leases three days ago...the man who said the biggest risk to the military and our national security was CLIMATE CHANGE...the guy who fucked up the Afghanistan withdrawal so badly the Taliban retook the country in 48 hours...

...that that man... Corrupt Joe Biden...Sleepy Joe... is the absolutely last person capable of leading the charge against Putin.

It is far better to have an army of sheep led by a lion than an army of lions led by a sheep.

But...perhaps something Sheepy Joe is qualified to do is challenge Putin to a pushup contest.

This crap is to distract from the absolute mess our country is in. Our problems at home are what should matter. Do not buy the crap that if and when the Ukraine is conquered is any kind problem equal to our open borders, inflation, political persecution, and lawlessness.

Bidum never had a prayer...nor Ukraine

I do find it amusing that so many people know why Putin has done this and what it will cost him, yet they couldn't see any of it and their remarks were all pure speculation right up until the point, three hours after the invasion began, they realized they had just been saying for days on end how Putin was never going to invade Ukraine.

Here is a free lesson in critical thinking for you all.

If an article has to tell you why it's important, or they give you a list of things that are important to know, you are reading an opinion by someone who had no fucking clue what is going on; anywhere.

You're welcome.

Unprovoked? Biden sent the incompetent Kamala Harris who declared she was happy to see Ukraine apply to be in NATO. Anyone with half a brain knows Russia won’t tolerate NATO in Ukraine, and that they will go to war over it. Biden refused to tell Putin that Ukraine wouldn’t become NATO, because it’s clear the Washington wants war with Russia.

So congratulations, you got us into a war with Russia.
