The United States has regained respect.

Six months into Joe Biden's presidency, approval ratings of U.S. leadership around the world had largely rebounded from the record-low ratings observed during the Trump administration.

A new Gallup report shows that as of early August 2021, across 46 countries and territories, median approval of U.S. leadership stood at 49%. This rating is up from the 30% median approval at the end of Trump's presidency...

[T]he substantial gains across so many countries halfway through 2021 make it unlikely that the final rating for Biden's first year in office could retreat to his predecessor's levels...
In the first few hours of his presidency, Biden rejoined the Paris Climate Accord and halted Trump's decision to leave the World Health Organization. And, in his first foreign policy speech as president, Biden vowed to repair U.S. alliances through diplomacy and restore the image of the U.S.
These words and actions likely reassured many longtime U.S. allies and the international community at large and may have contributed to the surge in approval ratings across most of the 46 countries and territories surveyed through the first half of 2021.

A conspicuous exception is the Russian Federation where approval of the U.S. president plummeted to 13% - consistent with Putin's joining with China's Xi in long refusing to recognize the President's election. The KGB thug had been exposed as interfering in the 2016 U.S. presidential election to help Trump and hurt Clinton.
You DO understand that everyone is pi$$ed at us for pulling the plug on Afghanistan unilaterally, right?

I don't know what planet you're living on, but I don't think it's the same one the rest of us inhabit.

How nice. Biden gets 69% approval ratings from countries like Congo and Zimbabwe while he unleashes tyranny on his own citizens.

Most countries are going green and appreciate that the US elected a potted plant as president.

I am unaware of any such comprehensive international polular poll following the Afghan withdrawal.

If there have been any, I'd like to see them, as well as follow how they change over time.

Gallup did warn that polling could change in the next several months.
You are willingly unaware, got it! Many nations were upset on how we left Afghanistan, you honestly think all nations would approve? You are a big partisan suck up, you know that. Biden did right by America but the rest of the world didn’t like it, but that is their problem. For a person to think that the move didn’t hurt our international standing is a partisan nut of just really stupid.

Yep. Just one of the great many reasons Biden was preferred over his predecessor.

How is the US weaker for having Biden?

The US is in decline with or without Biden, with or without Trump. But Trump was destroying alliances just for money and the kicks.
When you've got a President who's handlers have to "hide" to keep him from saying stupid things, Frigid...it's pretty obvious that he's going to struggle making the call on complex issues. The US is weaker because we have a shell of a President being controlled by unseen, unknown "others"...people that we didn't elect...people that we don't know that we can trust to do right by us.

Yeah, but the ones who hate Biden are China, Russia et al.
Those who like him are Germany, UK, Canada, Nordic countries, Australia, France.

Who are you nailing your flag to? Those in the first sentence, or those in the second?
What would make China "hate" Biden? Trump went after the Chinese on trade. Biden hasn't. There is a reason the Chinese Communists gave millions to the Biden family and it isn't because they "hate" Joe Biden, Doc! He's EXACTLY what they want in a US President!

And then you find out that the government keeps working (badly) with the president being a senile old man or not. So what difference does it make?

The US isn't any weaker. Decisions are being made by someone somewhere.

You talk about electing him as if you actually made that choice. Come off it, the US isn't a democracy. You go out and vote every four years for a new dude to be president, the system chooses that dude, you only have a choice between two people from a 330 million population. It's all a scam anyway.

Biden has done a lot of stuff. If you don't know it, that's your ignorance.

He's done quite a lot with Taiwan, for example:

He sent Senators with coronavirus vacccines.
He's sent warship through the straights.

But all you see are people calling him "Xiden" and claiming, falsely, that he's in the pay of Chinese.

Yep. Just one of the great many reasons Biden was preferred over his predecessor.
The weird worshippers of one dude, outraged by the extent that America has recovered its international repute, appear to be sniveling conflicting pretenses:

"Oh, yeah!
Well, they all hates the President, too!"

100186.gif

"Oh, yeah!
Well, it's a good thang if they all hates yuh!"

President Joe Biden’s leadership has driven a positive shift in other countries’ perceptions of the United States, according to a Gallup poll released Thursday, which shows international opinion has largely rebounded from the historic lows it hit under the Trump administration.

Yes, Congo and Zimbabwe are among the long list of nations that evidence an upsurge in regard for the U.S., but Russia is distraught over the American electorate's dumping the Loser at its first opportunity.

You assume that the nature of the assertiveness is always good and appropriate. That simply isn't true, and history is replete with examples.

So, what would you rather us be? Respected with this kind of policymaking taking place? Assertiveness is good where appropriate, but Biden is not being assertive at all. He is being dangerously docile and submissive.
