The United States on Wednesday circulated a draft resolution to the U.N. Security Council that would endorse the Iran nuclear deal but retain an arms embargo and ban on ballistic missile technology, said diplomats ahead of a likely vote next week.

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power briefed the 15-member council on the draft document behind closed doors.

The deal reached on Tuesday in Vienna with Iran was negotiated by Germany, the European Union and the five permanent, veto-wielding members of the Security Council - the United States, Russia, China, Britain and France.

In return for lifting sanctions, Iran agreed to long-term curbs on a nuclear program that the West suspected was aimed at creating an atomic bomb, but which Tehran says is peaceful.

Monday vote scheduled..

UNITED NATIONS (AP) — The United Nations Security Council is set to vote Monday morning on a resolution endorsing the Iran nuclear deal.

The resolution was circulated to all council members Wednesday by the United States. Council members also have been briefed by both Iran and the other countries that negotiated the landmark agreement to curb Iran's nuclear program.

With all five veto-wielding permanent members of the Security Council involved in the marathon Iran negotiations, the resolution's adoption Monday is certain.

Since Obozo signed the bill he got from Congress, it's law.... Sounds like Congress has grounds for impeachment (with the possibility of the votes in the Senate to pull it off, since so many Democrats voted to have the deal go before Congress for approval)....

More Americans need to face the fact we have an outlaw government and start reading up on the cure for such.

Nothing is going to happen to Obama. He's got another Year and a half... He's not done

Then impeach him you big baby. You won't, because you can't. The fact that right wingers like to whine is not grounds for impeachment.

Congress has grounds for impeachment

--LOL

they are not going to impeach him

if anything they will give him more blow jobs

The UN endorsing the deal, is like congress passing a non-binding resolution, it really has no effect.

The real meat of the UN resolution is to continue the arms ban and ballistic missile ban. I have a feeling Russia will veto it, because they are itching to sell Iran advanced air defense missile systems to get an infusion of hard currency.

Hide and watch, Russia will try to get the language on the weapons ban removed, if they are unable to do so, watch for a veto, because it has no bearing on the Iran deal, the UN is not a signator.

The weapons ban is only temporary anyways. The U.N. doesn't "signator" anything the member states do...Nice theory though:doubt:

Iran has been talking with North Korea. North Korea could use Iran's money and buy a nuke. Delivery? Rather easy really, just a plane and a pilot. It's been done before.

What has been stopping them to this point?

Our naval blockage of certain ships going into iran's waters.
I'm sure that will now end.

What does that have to do with a plane and a pilot?
