We all have a different lifetime, some by multiple decades. In the years you have lived, who would you consider the two best Presidents of your lifetime? There are no right or wrong answers, it is just your opinion and your lived experiences.

Reagan and Clinton

Not going the way you hoped, huh? :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg:

In the future, there will be people creating a Trump that did exist, just as people do with Reagan. During Reagan we devolved into a debtor nation. Reagan's trickle-down economics contributed significantly to many of the problems we face today. His belief in Laissez-faire economics is why jobs left the rust belt, leaving many white working-class people who voted for Reagan jobless. He was paying Saddam Hussein as an insurance policy against Iran. He and Bush one allowed crack to be sold in the hood t finance an overthrow in South America. Then they created the war on drugs to start mass incarceration of the backs who got addicted. They're responsible for the crack problem, and the gangs and violence that went along with it, that people here in this forum rag us blacks about today. Reagan sucked, he was one of the worst presidents, but Republicans have made him a hero and a false legend.

Ronald Reagan hands down. One of the best, if not the best, of the 20th century. I liked Bill Clinton also - The last “real” Democratic president.

Every word of that is true. Your personal choices are not the same as mine, though.
We're two different people. That's what makes the world interesting.

.

Gee, I have autopen signatures of the two I chose. Are they as valid as the most famous autopen "president" ever?

Ike was most disingenuous. He complained about the MIC as he’s headed out the door, yet he was instrumental in expanding it. He allowed the demonic and criminal Dulles brothers free reign. The CIA went wild during his presidency.

If anyone had the clout and recognized authority to curtail the MIC and CIA without ending up assassinated in broad daylight, it was Ike.
The first five years or so after WW 2 most likely set the direction of the deep state going. We made the Soviet Union our enemy. And we even ended up with the Eastern bloc communist nations and a wall. Almost complete power over the rest of the world and a growing central government dictatorial policing/spy presence.

He saw the danger in what he helped to build and expand, all of what you said is true, but his prescient warning did little to stop what was coming and remains here today.

It's worth saying that not only armament manufacturers profit from the MIC, there are so many smaller corporations that have nothing to do with military equipment that benefit from their share of the MIC, it really is corporate socialism at its core, spread far and wide, albeit a violent and deadly form of it.

Donald Trump makes all the others look brilliant.

Reagan is, and always has been, number one with me. He is spinning in his grave at light speed over the organization formerly known as the Republican Party turning into an adjunct to KGB Putin.

Bill Clinton looks like a saint next to the professional and personal failings of Donald Trump, so I have to give him props for creating the most jobs out of everyone on the list. No one after him has even come close.

Nor has anyone matched Clinton's GDP growth since then.

Clinton and the Republicans also did a pretty good job of getting the debt and deficits under control. Unfortunately, George Dubya Bush pissed it all away.
Clinton opened up trade with China as an MFN country. He also signed NAFTA.
