The only people I see supporting net neutrality are nerds who think their garbage traffic(like torrenting their anime and dr.who all day) should be treated equally to worthwhile traffic and major companies like Google who want to further corner the market. Opposing nerds and giant megacorps is reason enough in my mind for any decent american to oppose this.
I don't know why I even bother to post this stuff - the socialists will get out their scripted responses to flood the thread with their garbage.
FYI- It's not a Bill, and the FCC HAS NEVER posted any rules to any regulations until the regulation has passed, and then it is released within a week of so from passage.Absolutely amazing that a 332 page bill could be passed in total secrecy. Both Democrats and Republicans should be up in arms that a bill is not made public.
How can anyone be for it it they do not know what is in it? This is a nightmare for anyone that loves the freedom now on the internet.
Nothing wrong with ISPs making a profit. What I have a problem with is monopolization of ISPs, which is essentially what net neutrality does. Only large corporations will be able to afford treating all data equally and it will create a barrier to entry essentially for smaller ISPs.The only people I see supporting net neutrality are nerds who think their garbage traffic(like torrenting their anime and dr.who all day) should be treated equally to worthwhile traffic and major companies like Google who want to further corner the market. What about ISP profiteering?

That is just the point! The specific have not been made public yet.Absolutely amazing that a 332 page bill could be passed in total secrecy. Both Democrats and Republicans should be up in arms that a bill is not made public.

Why is it a 'nightmare'? What restriction to your freedom are you lamenting? What has been taken away from you?
Specifically.

Unfortunately, it's Democrats and Republicans who are working in unison to steal more of our freedom. It's what they do -- it's why they're called "lawmakers."

What freedom has been taken from you?
I see lots and lots of really vague platitudes to freedom, 'outrage' at the loss of it, and condemnation of net neutrality. All surprsingly similiar and suprisingly vague. But when I ask WHICH freedoms were lost, what was taken....
I firmly believe that no law, regulation or bill should be adopted in secrecy and the specifics not made public until after it is adopted.

Its just crickets.

Again, how can you rail against the loss of freedom when you haven't seen the regulation? Its simple: either the regulation is your source on your 'loss of freedom', or you are. And since you haven't seen the regulation, then you're just citing yourself on your 'loss of freedom'.
Not the regulation.
You can't even *describe* what freedoms you've lost. Let alone factually establish that they were lost.

And since you haven't seen the regulation, then you're just blowing smoke that there is no loss of freedom.
At this point the regulations have been passed and we have to wait til the FCC publishes them to seem what is in them.
