You are saying its "illegal for a minor to ... own a firearm". But you agreed with AI Overview writing, "it's legal for a child to possess a long gun, like a rifle or shotgun".

So something is wrong. And I know that is it legal for a minor to own firearms. The federal dealers can't sell him one, but he can buy used, make one, be gifted one, etc.
