The Top Gun sequel is probably gonna be just meh

Never saw the first, sequel won't mean a thing to me.

There are very few crimes, in my opinion, that warrant death. Driving slow in the fast lane, and doing a months worth of banking when there's a line at the ATM are some that spring to mind.

But, the most heinous crime of all, that which cannot be forgiven in this world or the next is ...

Manufacturing that soulless cash-grab that is the remake / reboot of a perfect movie.

Not only should people doing so not be allowed to make another movie ... they shouldn't be allowed to WATCH another movie.

Dude relax. It's not a remake / reboot . It's a sequel, part 2. And your Boyfriend Tommy is in it. Rejoice.

Yeah. Probably.

I miss the winner emoji. This post I would Winner.

Even the first for me was overrated and I know the second one will not be a "rah, rah, go America" movie, so what's the point? Especially when they bend over for global market access from those nation who might ban the movie.

If we want some American jingilism I will put on Rambo or Rocky IV. Even a horrible actor like Stallone at least understood his target market and the viewer just wants to see the baddies get their ass kicked!

Well, there in lies the little demon. The "target market." The target market now is global. Just look at Tik Tok.

This is how I see the plot playing out.

TOP GUN 2....

Maverick takes a new hotshot pilot under his wing.

A deaf black female transgender lesbian Somali refugee...Shastifaria...

She teaches him sign language...and all about white privilege.

He teaches her about beach volleyball...and Scientology.

The final air battle takes place against an all blonde white male far right wing terrorist organization.

Hitler's Own Nationalist Killer Youth (HONKY).

Funded with Russian supplied blood diamonds, and pure hatred for diversity.

They arm their MiG-29's and attempt a rocket attack on San Francisco's Castro District...DURING THE PRIDE WEEK PARADE.

Through cockpit video cameras, the two dip, dodge, dive, and sign their way to victory.

...soundtrack by Erica Badu...and Yoko Ono

Saw the first one....It's cheesy AF, but my horny little redhead squeezer if the day liked it, so I got some that night.

Can't expect that a sequel would be any better than meh.

A lot of young men went in the AF after that came out.

And, really, it was kind of like that.

Like I said, the magic of the original is that it really did reflect the mode of the enlisted, society and culture as a whole back then. Or a sign of the times, maybe that's a better way to say it. It was a good time.

It's kind of cool that they're gonna release a sequel over 35 years later, but 1986 (and thereabouts) itself is where the cool factor of the original lies.
I heard the Jussie Smollet was playing the original Cruse part and that the Kelly McGillis part went to this guy:
