Point #1: Gina Rodriguez gave an incorrect (false) discription of who US citizens are. Making a contribution to the country does not make an immigrant (legal or illegal) a US citizen. See the following quote from the link provided by g5000.

Point # 2: Obama did not correct GRs false discription of who is a US citizen. So it is true that Obama did not directly say it's okay for non citizens to vote, but if we use the definition of citizen just established by GR, then it does seem as though it's okay for those that are not legally citizens to vote. Notice Obama did not say that you have to be a citizen to vote. He said that when you vote, you are a citizen. Thus, if you use GR's definition of citizen, you become a citizen by voting because voting is one way to make a contribution.

OBAMA: Not true. And the reason is, first of all, when you vote, you are a citizen yourself. And there is not a situation where the voting rolls somehow are transferred over and people start investigating, etc.

Point # 3. Obama clearly said that the voting rolls are not turned over for investigation. Thus, if GR, who is a US citizen votes, her non-citizen family members will not be in danger of deportation because of that. Also, if a non-citizen is able to register and be on the voting roll, he need not worry either that the voting roll will be investigated. One can logically conclude from what Obama said, non citizens and illegals will not get caught for voting once on the voting rolls.
