The thread where I make Democrats angry- why we lost in 2024!

Are saying infertile women are not really women because they can't make babies? SInce when is having babies the be-all and end-all of being female?

Since 99% of my posts make Republicans Angry, I thought I'd do a post where I antagonize Democrats with hard, cold truths. Because it seems to me most of the Democrat discussion is "We weren't radical enough!"

So here is my list, 11 reasons why Democrats got their asses handed to them in 2024.

1) Joe Biden – completely and utterly screwed his party. It should have been evident to everyone around him that, at 81, he didn’t have the acuity or stamina to wage a campaign against Trump. He maybe never did, but the unique nature of the 2020 election gave him a pass. In 2020, he promised to be a transitional president. A second term never should have been in the cards.

In any event, Biden should have withdrawn after the 2022 midterms, and the Democrats did better than they deserved to because Trump insisted on extreme MAGA candidates for winnable races. A vigorous primary campaign would have tempered the steel of the eventual nominee.

2) Kamala Harris – In one aspect, it’s easy to be sympathetic; she had to hop in and pick up a ball that had been fumbled. That said, she was a poor candidate. She was a weak candidate in 2020 when she dropped out before the primaries, and she did little to distinguish herself as Vice President. But the Democrats were painted into a corner. Passing over her to pick someone more electable would have been seen as an insult to women and minorities. Additionally, there was the issue of who could legally use the money that Biden had raised to that point.

Harris should have done a self-evaluation and realized that she probably wasn’t the best candidate. She didn’t. We got the result we should have expected.

3) Tim Walz- a lousy pick. He brought nothing to the table. Minnesota hasn’t gone Red since 1972. If the Democrats are seriously fighting for MN, they need to rethink their party. Shapiro, Warnock, anyone who could have helped in a Swing state would have been better.

4) The Corporate Media didn’t do its job- The Corporate Media has this weird symbiotic relationship with Trump. They know he’s repulsive, but he’s good for ratings. He’s reality TV incarnate, normalizing lousy behavior because it’s entertaining. Joe Biden could look a bit confused trying to find the exit, and you’d get speculation about his mental acuity. Trump could rant about Haitians eating cats and Arnold Palmer’s….er… attributes, and nope, nothing to see here.

5) Abortion wasn’t the magic bullet – The initial shock of Dobbs probably saved the Democrats from worse results in 2022, but it was a hand Harris overplayed. Most Americans are ambivalent about abortion. They don’t think it should be illegal, but they don’t like it much, either. Making it the centerpiece of your campaign was a bad idea.

6) Taking Asians and Hispanics for granted – This is the untold story of 2024. Trump didn’t improve his numbers with white voters. He lost a percentage point among them. He only slightly improved his standing with black voters. The two big groups that he gained were Hispanics (+14) and Asians (+6), despite the toxic and racist language coming from Trump on Immigration.

Part of the reason was that the Harris team took them for granted, whereas Trump made genuine outreach. The other part of the problem is that immigration is affecting these communities, and muddled messaging didn’t help.

7) Immigration – Immigration has become a significant crisis, which Biden and Harris did not effectively manage. Part of the problem is immigrants figured out the Asylum loophole and abused the heck out of it. The other part of the problem is that Biden did very little to discourage immigration. While they deported more people than Trump did during his first term, they didn’t like to talk about it because they thought it wouldn’t play well with the Hispanic Community.

8) It’s the economy, stupid. The Biden economy was pretty good. Record stock market growth, record job growth, and low unemployment. The fly in the ointment, of course, was high inflation, driven by global commodities, labor shortages, and, yes, the Trillions in Stimulus That both Trump and Biden pumped into the economy to keep it afloat during COVID-19. The problem was, the Democrats did a poor job talking up the good stuff, and really weren't proactive enough on inflation, other than "Just let the fed handle it by putting home prices out of reach".

9) Transgender rights - Failure to Communicate. Democrats let Republicans run the table with this one. Every time the Republicans dragged out some college girl whining how she didn’t get a trophy, the Democrats should have brought out a transgender girl who transphobic people have abused. They didn’t do this, and the GOP got away with dehumanization.

10) Not holding Trump to account for COVID (or anything else!) – It is MIND-BOGGLING to me how Democrats weren’t reminding people at every step about how Trump mismanaged the COVID crisis (and subsequent recession).

11) Israel and Palestine- trying to thread the needle. This is where they should have taken a stand. Instead, they tried to please both sides and ended up pleasing neither one. So now you have these Arab-Americans in Dearborn, MI, who stayed home. How are things better for you now? ,

I don't agree with you on much, but you nailed this one.

I'm sure you're utterly dismayed that the Democrats' current approach is to turn up the Trump-hate up to 11, and not focus on anything else. Not a good plan if they want to save the party.

When JD Vance runs in 2028, just saying "yeah, everything we said about Trump applies to this guy, too" isn't going to work.

Again, this sounds like your issues, not Lia Thomas'.

Lia Thomas followed the rules set down by the NCAA for Transgender athlete's. She took off a year from competing after she started transitioning, she lost a substantial amount of muscle mass.

Now, if you refuse to accept that transgender women are a thing, I'm not going to piss up that rope.

But they are hardly mentally handicapped. They function within society as doctors, lawyers, engineers, military officers, and yes, even athletes.
What nonsense. Mr, Thomas is not a woman thus has no business in women’s sports. What are the “rules” for a failed male swimmer who couldn’t compete against male competition?

The corporate media not doing its job? They have gone after Trump since 2016 that did not stop in 2024. As for the media and Biden his mental decline had been showing for basically his entire Presidency and for the most part the media tried to downplay it or ignore it till the CNN debate made that impossible for them. The rest of the post was accurate the party would be wise to listen to things like that and stop pretending it was just the messaging.

Cleetus is still drinking the bleach.

The don’t gravitate towards the Democratic Party for a reason. They are able to see that the current Democratic Party is too closely aligned with the form of government from which they escaped. Now, if we could only get all those Democrats escaping from their blue states to be as enlightened.

The people who escaped were running away because they had spent decades screwing over their fellow Cubans.

Here's what JFK said weeks before Ted Cruz's dad killed him (well, that's what Trump said, anyway. )

"I believe that there is no country in the world, including the African regions, including any and all the countries under colonial domination, where economic colonization, humiliation and exploitation were worse than in Cuba, in part owing to my country's policies during the Batista regime. I believe that we created, built and manufactured the Castro movement out of whole cloth and without realizing it. I believe that the accumulation of these mistakes has jeopardized all of Latin America. The great aim of the Alliance for Progress is to reverse this unfortunate policy. This is one of the most, if not the most, important problems in America foreign policy. I can assure you that I have understood the Cubans. I approved the proclamation which Fidel Castro made in the Sierra Maestra, when he justifiably called for justice and especially yearned to rid Cuba of corruption. I will go even further: to some extent it is as though Batista was the incarnation of a number of sins on the part of the United States. Now we shall have to pay for those sins. In the matter of the Batista regime, I am in agreement with the first Cuban revolutionaries."

Biological males should not compete against biological females in any sport where there is a current separation of sexes. There is a distinct advantage. Only those who have never participated in organized sports outside of 6 year old soccer don’t know this.

If a Girl's "champion" can't beat a mediocre boy who has lost muscle mass by undergoing a year of hormone treatments, maybe she shouldn't bother.

Neat. They think they are girls. Their biology says otherwise, thus why they shouldn’t be competing against biological females.

GO back and read what I wrote, Cleetus, then have someone explain the big words to you.

And Bernie is a Democrat. He runs on the Democratic ticket. We have been trying to tell you for years that the Democratic Party more closely aligns with Communism and Socialism. Most Americans want to steer very clear of those two forms of government. We just need to make the average Democrat aware of this tidbit(many are ignorant) and even more will leave the Party.

Actually, Bernie is an independent.

The only people drinking bleach were dumb Democrats who weren’t smart enough to understand what Trump was saying. He never said to drink bleach. Dumb people and those looking for political talking points spun his statement.

That he said it at all is what made it ludicrous. You could see Fauci and Brix roll their eyes.

Trans girls are defacto bullying biological girls by competing against them and taking away their trophies and ribbons.

Oh, noes, not their ribbons!!!! Hey, girls, you are going to lose your right to equal pay, the right to choose, and protections against sexual harassment, but you get to keep your ribbons.

You will be in for a big surprise by the end of Trump’s term. He does need the support of Congress, so we can only hope the lefty lunies don’t take control in the midterms.

In any event, Biden should have withdrawn after the 2022 midterms, and the Democrats did better than they deserved to because Trump insisted on extreme MAGA candidates for winnable races. A vigorous primary campaign would have tempered the steel of the eventual nominee.
This was the start of bad planning... Biden should have served 4 years and then left the Democrats to pick a new candidate with Biden stating at the very start he not endorsing anyone (at the start of his term).
This should allowed the Dems to turn the page.

Too close to the previous admin and not really that popular. It wasn't the time. US is just not ready to pick a woman and Obama was an exceptional candidate to be the first black president. Harris is not exceptional.
We needed to pick a solid Moderate that spoke to the independents...
I think he was a good candidate from the wrong state. Sharpiro was the guy... He also sends the right message too.
Agreed... Democrats have to set up a shadow cabinet to specialise the message and go on all RW Media... Pete Buttigieg is a great example of that, know your brief and be able to answer with knowledge and authority. Imagine a team of 10 of them with supporting staff of 2-3 each from Congress... Unified Message on each topics, get known for plain talking, explaining how this effects regular folks... This should be done right now.
Also go on the large podcasts, Joe Rogan should have Dems on more often, Democrats just retreated and gave Trump that whole space and then got confused when the got hammer among young men.
Yep, agree
6) Taking Asians and Hispanics for granted – This is the untold story of 2024. Trump didn’t improve his numbers with white voters. He lost a percentage point among them. He only slightly improved his standing with black voters. The two big groups that he gained were Hispanics (+14) and Asians (+6), despite the toxic and racist language coming from Trump on Immigration.

Part of the reason was that the Harris team took them for granted, whereas Trump made genuine outreach. The other part of the problem is that immigration is affecting these communities, and muddled messaging didn’t help.
Doing what Is said in Media(point 4)... Go on and win them...
Democrat position was confusing and lacked direction... Again to point 4, have a team working the media with a consolidated view... Work hard on it, Mark Twain said I wrote you a long letter because I didn't have time for a short one... We need short ones, well thought out and what effects peoples lives...
Again Confusing the message and delivering it only on their media...
Again Communication....
10) Not holding Trump to account for COVID (or anything else!) – It is MIND-BOGGLING to me how Democrats weren’t reminding people at every step about how Trump mismanaged the COVID crisis (and subsequent recession).
Democrats basically looked weak too many times...
11) Israel and Palestine- trying to thread the needle. This is where they should have taken a stand. Instead, they tried to please both sides and ended up pleasing neither one. So now you have these Arab-Americans in Dearborn, MI, who stayed home. How are things better for you now? ,
Respect the right of both to exist.
Two state solution
No War Crimes from either side.

Hold both sides to the same standard.... The majority on both sides want peace and are willing to live in harmony... I know that is hard to believe but look at the polls...

Hamas created the problem, but the Palestinian people were the ones suffering.

This wasn't an issue in the rest of the world. The rest of the world saw that Israelis overreacted and were causing a lot of untold misery.

Biden should have been working for a cease-fire long before he did.
Hamas are a bunch of War Criminals...
Bibi has a bunch of War Criminals as well...

There are people in the region that want peace but the pro War factions are staring things up...

First thing is Apartheid has to end in the West Bank....

June 2024:
Israel Has Killed 17,000 Terrorists in Gaza Since Start of War, IDF Says.

More than half of those killed in Gaza are Hamas terrorists.
The Gaza ministry of health has not directly counted 31,000 dead. Their own documentation says that they directly counted some 17,000 in their hospitals, and (as of March 4) over 13,000 from "trusted media sources."

Hamas' women are just as guilty!

And Hamas "health" Ministry numbers are not to be trusted.

First, even the UN itself, which initially accepted the false Hamas data, had to publish a clarification 1 that the number of women and children among those killed in Gaza was not "a majority", but about a third.

Secondly, a statistical study by an expert from the University of Pennsylvania published in the magazine 'Tablet' 2 found that the claim about the majority of women and children among the dead cannot be true and it appears that the ratio between a dead gunman and a dead gunman is in the region of 1:1, and this was by no means the only study that cast great doubt the reliability of the Palestinian reports on the number of women and children among the dead.

Thirdly, the American research institute "Washington Institute" 3, also stated that the information published by the Hamas authorities should not be trusted - it lacks credibility, and seems to be deliberately distorted to create an image of an indiscriminate massacre of the civilian population, in the study Under the title: "Gaza casualty figures have become completely unreliable."

Fourth, another and interesting analysis of the casualty data in Gaza was carried out by the data analyst Mark Zlochin and published in the British 'Telegraph' 4. This study examined the data provided by the UN about 150 UNRWA workers who were killed in the war

The most striking figure is that 62% of the UNRWA workers who were killed are men. This is despite the fact that men make up only 41% of all the agency's workers in Gaza. In fact, the chance of a man working for UNRWA being killed by the IDF is more than double the chance of a woman. It seems that indeed many UNRWA workers fought in the ranks of Hamas (and thus had a higher chance of being killed). In addition, this is further proof that the figures of the Hamas Ministry of Health (according to which women have a similar chance of being killed by the IDF) are not reliable.

In addition, Zlochin found that there is an almost perfect match between the data of the UN workers (the women) who were killed and the hospital casualty records, which allows him to estimate for himself how many Gazans have been killed since the outbreak of the war: about 18,000 (compared to Hamas's claim of 32,000 dead).

And there was also the AP news agency, which determined that the number of women and children among the dead dropped below 40%. 5

Fifth: Oh and the "10,000" missing?

Not one person found under the rubble in Gaza for four months - there are still exactly 10,000 missing (if you believe Hamas, which the UN does).
One of the many bogus statistics we've been following from Gaza is the number of missing people buried under rubble.

As we've noted, between November and May, Hamas regularly reported - and the UN regularly repeated - 7,000 missing people under the rubble in Gaza. Then, sddenly, on May 3, that number jumped to 10,000 people missing.

Does anyone have the names of these missing people? Do we know what methodology was used to estimate their numbers?

Of course not. Because Hamas made them all up. And that's good enough for the UN.

Right now, the number of supposedly missing people has remained steady at exactly 10,000 for four months. The UN keeps publishing that number, crediting the Gaza Government Media Office, which is Hamas.

So not one person has been discovered under the rubble since May? Or maybe some have been discovered, but are equaled out with the number newly buried?

The number is fiction, like all of Hamas numbers. But NGOs and the UN need to publish the highest, most absurd numbers because that gives the sense of urgency that they demand for their anti-Israel political purposes.

Not one person found under the rubble in Gaza for four months - there are still exactly 10,000 missing (if you believe Hamas, which the UN does)

Do Women and Children Really Make Up 70% of the Gaza Death Toll?
HonestReporting Staff.
November 18, 2024.

The claim that 70% of Gaza’s casualties are women and children just doesn’t add up. Why? This figure only reflects a sample of about 8,000 reported deaths, which leaves out a lot of context. Never mind that in the overall toll, Hamas doesn’t include its own combatants, and inconsistencies in counting methods, like open-source Google forms, mean these numbers may be very misleading. For real understanding, the media needs to ask harder questions.

Then, in April 2025:

Hamas admits 72% of combat-aged fatalities are men, quietly reduces civilian death toll - report.
Jerusalem Post Staff. 04/04/2025.

Hamas quietly removed the names of thousands of Palestinians it had previously alleged were killed during the Israel-Hamas war, Salo Aizenberg, from the US-based non-profit organisation Honest Reporting told The Telegraph on Tuesday after analyzing Hamas’s March 2025 casualty update.

Hamas has previously claimed that 70% of casualties have been women and children, a claim no longer reflected in their recently updated lists, according to the research. Approximately 72% of fatalities between the ages of 13-55 are men - the demographic category aligns with Hamas combatants.

“Hamas’s new March 2025 fatality list quietly drops 3,400 fully ‘identified’ deaths listed in its August and October 2024 reports – including 1,080 children. These ‘deaths’ never happened. The numbers were falsified – again,” Aizenberg asserted.

Taking Hamas figures as fact A similar report by the Henry Jackson Society in December also concluded that Hamas had inflated the number of casualties in the war.

“We knew there were rafts of errors in their reporting,” report author Andrew Fox said. “There’s a reasonable explanation in that their computer systems went down in November 2023, so it’s been challenging for them to report accurately, but the lists are so unreliable that the world’s media shouldn’t be quoting them as reliable.
