The realities of the Trump administration

Georgia Republican Senators Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue are so enthralled with Trump they supported a lawsuit by the attorney general from Texas that would have disenfranchised Georgian voters.

Currently we are experiencing a legislative disaster, referring to the no-man's-land of the stimulus/government funding bill as explained in the report above.

The masterminds behind this disaster is the Republican Party which controls the Senate and is responsible for the grinch in the Oval Office who currently is vacationing in Florida as the disaster he created unfolds.

The root cause of the disaster is a divided government.

Georgians on Jan. 5 can alleviate the problem by creating a unified government. It is their decision. Do they want another two years of this chaos, or do they want a government that will get things done and offer relief for Georgians who need federal assistance. The current Republican leadership has denied that assistance.

Both Republican Senators, Loeffler and Perdue, are staunch Trump supporters.

Trump is responsible for this mess. Plus he weakened our military defense by vetoing the defense bill which was approved by a huge majority of Republicans.

Are Georgians going to send both Republican Senators back to Washington to create another divided government for a minimum of two years?

Or, will they vote for a united government that will get things done -- unlike current issues -- and punish those who have weakened us and preyed on the unfortunate?

I honestly don't know. I pray for the latter. Americans have had it up to here with the chaos in our federal government.

Four years of chaos!

Who is responsible? Republicans. Georgia, please don't send Republicans to the Senate for six more years.

Trump is a very sick man.

Donald J. Trump

@realDonaldTrump

Where the hell is the Durham Report? They spied on my campaign, colluded with Russia (and others), and got caught. Read the Horowitz Reports about Comey & McCabe. Even the Fake News @nytimes said “bad”. They tried it all, and failed, so now they are trying to steal the election!
This claim about election fraud is disputed

Trump begged for Russia's help in the election and praised WikiLeaks for publicizing Russia's hacking activities.

In 59 court cases Trump's lawyers did not disclose any evidence of fraud. Trump lost 59 of 60 court cases.

This man has no concept of reality. He believes his own fantasies.

Do they want another two years of this chaos, or do they want a government that will get things done and offer relief for Georgians who need federal assistance. The current Republican leadership has denied that assistance.

CNN reports, "Trump's waffling over the $900 billion Covid relief package, which he has yet to sign, is leaving his fellow Republicans in Georgia in a tough spot as they fight to maintain control of the US Senate.

"GOP Sens. David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler -- who are running as Trump loyalists -- have touted the bill, which they both voted for. Perdue launched ads the morning after the bill was passed telling Georgians that he "delivered" billions of dollars in Covid relief and direct checks to those in need.

"Instead, Trump continues to complain about the bill, creating uncertainty for millions of Americans on the verge of losing unemployment benefits."

As diehard fiscal conservatives Perdue and Loeffler are between a rock and hard spot, and they have yet to say if they agree with Trump's distinctly liberal offer of direct payments of $2,000, rather than the $600 in the bill.

Joe Lockhart writes, "Trump's reaction to the election results has also hit Perdue and Loeffler hard. His bitter criticism of Georgia's Republican governor and secretary of state for not helping him overturn the results has split the Republican Party in the state. Setting off a circular firing squad within the Republican Party was an unexpected gift for the Democrats."

Perdue and Loeffler have to be wondering which side Trump is on.

The answer is simple. Boot them all out. The fact is, a unified government replacing a chaotic government is a powerful incentive for Georgians to do just that.

Even when Trump does something right, he is screwed up.

The Post reports, "Trump late Sunday signed the stimulus bill into law, three people briefed on his decision said, averting a Tuesday government shutdown. His decision to back down and sign the measure will release $900 billion in stimulus funds into the economy that had been held up for nearly a week.

"The people spoke on the condition of anonymity because they weren’t authorized to disclose Trump’s move, which took place while Trump was vacationing in Florida. They said the president had repeatedly changed his mind on the matter.

"Trump’s new decision to sign the bill came less than a week after he demanded changes to it. He had suggested he would refuse to sign it into law unless those demands were met. On Tuesday, he referred to the bill as a “disgrace.” It was unclear what prompted him to change his mind late Sunday, but he was under tremendous pressure from Republicans to acquiesce."

Why am I not surprised? This guy has got a real serious mental problem. He knew all along he would do this, but creating controversy is what he does best, and if he is creating misery for millions, all the better.

Trump late Sunday signed the stimulus bill into law, three people briefed on his decision said, averting a Tuesday government shutdown. His decision to back down and sign the measure will release $900 billion in stimulus funds into the economy that had been held up for nearly a week.

Trump backed down.

So, of course, in his signing statement, he made it sound like he didn't with this piece of B.S.

On Monday the House will vote to increase payments to individuals from $600 to $2,000. Trump knows perfectly well that will not fly in the Senate. His own party will squash it.

Additionally, Congress has promised that Section 230, which so unfairly benefits Big Tech at the expense of the American people, will be reviewed and either be terminated or substantially reformed. That is virtually Trump's personal beef with Twitter who had the temerity of censuring Trump's lies. Congress is not concerned with Section 230.

Likewise, the House and Senate have agreed to focus strongly on the very substantial voter fraud which took place in the November 3 Presidential election. That is simply just another lie from Trump, but it illustrates Trump's difficulty in accepting reality.

Come Jan. 20, Trump, you're fired. Good freaking riddance!

Even his followers will be happy to see him gone. He is a source of embarrassment.

CNBC reports, "The House was set to vote Monday on whether to override President Donald Trump’s veto of an annual defense spending bill.

"An override would stand as a bipartisan rebuke to the Republican president in the final days of his administration.

"The House, led by Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., is set to convene at 2 p.m. ET. The vote to override Trump’s rejection of the massive defense bill, which authorizes a topline of $740 billion in spending and outlines Pentagon policy, is expected around 5 p.m. If passed, the override measure will then head to the Senate.

"Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has said his chamber would vote on overriding the veto Tuesday."

An override would stand as a bipartisan rebuke to the Republican president in the final days of his administration!

No more needs to be said as Trump remains in hiding, and the White House has become ghost dwelling.

The country has had its fill of Republicans. Please, Georgia, don't send any more Republicans to Washington. They embarrass themselves and our beloved country.

With respect to two pieces of legislation, Trump has put the Republican Party in an impossible situation.

Trump refused to sign the covid relief/government spending bill, adopting the liberal position of a $2,000 stimulus check instead of $600. He called the $600 amount a "disgrace."

The Democrats in the House cheered wildly, and, with Republicans who wanted to support Trump, the House approved the liberal amount suggested by Trump.

Republicans had to either violate a bedrock principle of fiscal conservatism and support Trump's liberal instruction or stay loyal to the cornerstone of conservatism. Proving once again Trump and Trump Republicans are not true conservatives, many House Republicans chose the former -- support Trump and his liberal fantasy.

Now the problem falls on the broad shoulders of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans. Will they violate their principles, too, and support Trump and his liberal demand? We may not know for a while. It is uncertain whether the majority leader will move to consider it in the closing days of the current Congress.

For sixty years the National Defense Authorization Act enjoyed overwhelming bipartisan support and was routinely approved by the President.

Trump vetoed it.

CBS reports, " The House of Representatives secured enough votes Monday night to override Trump's veto of an annual must-pass defense policy bill, teeing up what could be the first time Congress overrides a veto from Trump only weeks before he leaves office."

So, once again, Trump handed Senate Republicans an extremely serious dilemma. Will Republican Senators vote with their convictions to override Trump's veto or will they support Trump and his veto for purely personal reasons?

In a statement after Trump’s veto, Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., the No. 3 Republican in the House, said in a statement that “Congress must uphold its highest responsibility — providing for the defense of this nation — and ensure this bill becomes law.”

It seems clear Trump wants to take the GOP down with him. Will the Republican leadership allow that to happen?

The country has had its fill of Republicans. Please, Georgia, don't send any more Republicans to Washington. They embarrass themselves and our beloved country.

How screwed up is the Republican Party?

This screwed up. CNBC reports, Republican " Rep. Louie Gohmert and other Republicans filed a lawsuit against [Republican] Vice President Mike Pence, attempting to reverse President-elect Joe Biden’s victory over President Trump.

"The suit asks Texas federal judge appointed by Trump to declare that Pence has the “exclusive authority and sole discretion” to decide which electoral votes from a given state should be counted.

"Legal scholars quickly dismissed the lawsuit as hopelessly far-fetched."

Put another way, it is just another Republican fantasy.

Georgians, the last thing we need is more Republicans in Congress.

As diehard fiscal conservatives Perdue and Loeffler are between a rock and hard spot, and they have yet to say if they agree with Trump's distinctly liberal offer of direct payments of $2,000, rather than the $600 in the bill.

Along with Trump, Senators Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue, both Georgia Republicans facing tight runoff elections in a week, are doing their best imitation of liberals. According to the Times, they announced on Tuesday that they supported increasing the size of individual stimulus checks to $2,000 from $600.

“I’m delighted to support the president in this $2,000,” Mr. Perdue said on Fox News’s “America’s Newsroom” on Tuesday morning. “It’s the right thing to do for people in Georgia.”

That has been the position of their opponents, Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff, all along. Now suddenly, eight days before the election, Perdue and Loeffler adopt the position. That doesn't pass the smell test.

Why vote for Republicans who are playing the role of liberals to support a suddenly liberal Republican President? Why not vote for the real thing, and end the chaos in Washington?

Among other things, we have a Republican President who is afraid to face the American people and scared to death of reporters.

Georgians, are these the kind of people you want to support? If so, please explain why.

This is weird. I mean really weird. Trump has done some really strange things in the past, but this one is out there, really out there.

We all know Trump equates all Democrats as socialists. The incorrect labeling is something his largely uneducated base can and wants to believe although it makes little sense.

“A vote for any Democrat in 2020 is a vote for the rise of radical socialism and the destruction of the American dream,” Trump said during the 2020 campaign, an election he lost by over seven million votes.

Senator Bernie Sanders is an admitted socialist, and he is proud of it.

Senator Sanders strongly approves of a $2,000 stimulus checks. Indeed, hours after the House voted Monday to boost stimulus checks from $600 to $2,000, he vowed to push the GOP-controlled Senate to vote on the move as well.

His leverage? A threat to throw a wrench into Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s plans for a quick vote tomorrow on an override of President Trump’s defense bill veto.

That is how strongly Sanders feels about the $2,000 stimulus!

In a video posted to Twitter, Trump called on Congress to increase the “ridiculously low” $600 stimulus checks to $2,000!

Trump adopted socialist Senator Sanders' position on the $2,000 stimulus checks.

As did Senators Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue, the Georgia lawmakers facing tight runoff elections next week along with Senator Marco Rubio of Florida, Senator Josh Hawley of Missouri and Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina,
Is the world turning upside down? Are fiscal conservatives like Loeffler and Perdue adopting liberal spending practices?

Or is Trump turning the Republican Party upside down and taking it down with him?

However this turns out, all of this makes the Republican Party look like the party of fools from the President on down.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell was not born yesterday. He is one crafty politician. If Trump thinks he can outmaneuver Mitch, he is sadly mistaken.

CNBC reports, "The Kentucky Republican later Tuesday introduced a bill that would boost the size of the checks to $2,000 from $600, repeal Section 230 legal liability protections for internet platforms and create a commission to study election issues. The bill would meet all of President Donald Trump’s recent demands, which are unrelated, but would not get Democratic support and become law."

The bill would not get much Republican support either. A large majority of Republicans are opposed to the change from $600 to $2,000, are not the least bit interested in Section 230 because Trump's argument is pure malarkey, and they are not interested in a commission to investigate nonexistant election fraud.

McConnell is introducing a bill that is destined to fail. "Through the bill, Republicans would both avoid the act of actually passing $2,000 payments but allow GOP senators running for reelection in Georgia’s Jan. 5 runoffs to express support for Trump’s priorities," according CNBC.

"McConnell brought the chamber back this week with one major goal: overriding Trump’s veto of the annual National Defense Authorization Act," CNBC added.

As expected, Trump gets nothing. I said over a week ago Trump was interrupting his golf game only to make a fool of himself. That's nothing new. He yearns to be the center of attention.

The silence from Trump's followers is overwhelming. Where are all those folks who voted for this idiot? Embarrassed? Is that why they are hiding?

CNN reports, "There is absolutely no sign right now that a standalone bill on $2,000 checks is going to get a vote on the Senate floor. It looks like McConnell is simply going to run out the clock.

"Meanwhile, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin tweeted Tuesday evening that direct payments to Americans were expected to begin arriving immediately. These would be the $600 payments included in the relief package President Donald Trump signed on Sunday evening.

"It's important to remember that McConnell is essentially ignoring Trump's request. In a lot of ways, this moment isn't that dissimilar to how McConnell has managed Trump for four years, letting the President rant and vent only to quietly conduct things the way he thinks is best for his members in his own chamber."

Then there is Trump's ridiculous veto of the defense bill which passed overwhelmingly in both houses of Congress.

The Hill reports, "The Senate appears poised to override President Trump’s veto of a defense policy bill, handing the president a stinging rebuke in the final days of his administration."

McConnell has made it clear that he expects "to have the two-thirds majority votes needed to nix Trump’s veto of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), marking the first time in four years that Congress has been able to successfully override Trump."

I made it clear days ago the mentally unhinged Trump is alone. With the exception of Azar (HHS), the White House and Trump's cabinet are silent. While Democrats and socialists like Senator Sanders agreed with Trump regarding $2,000 stimulus checks, no one in position of authority is listening to Trump's rants.

Is it any wonder why, when it comes to Trump, his supporters are totally silent?

Georgia Republican Senators Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue are so enthralled with Trump they supported a lawsuit by the attorney general from Texas that would have disenfranchised Georgian voters.

There is absolutely no sign right now that a standalone bill on $2,000 checks is going to get a vote on the Senate floor. It looks like McConnell is simply going to run out the clock.

Republican Senator Perdue's own party is squashing the $2,000 stimulus check. Is Perdue going against his party's leadership? Loeffler also endorses the $2,000 check instead of her party's support of $600. They both are defying their own party's leadership as well as the majority of Republicans in Congress.

Trump is planning on visiting Georgia soon to support Perdue and Loeffler. Trump lost his election in Georgia.

Today, Trump demanded that the Republican governor resign. “@BrianKempGA should resign from office,” Trump said in a tweet. “He is an obstructionist who refuses to admit that we won Georgia, BIG!”

Do Perdue and Loeffler really want Trump to come to Georgia to campaign for them?

Many are hoping he does. Those who want a united government for the next two years dearly hope that Trump goes down to Georgia. Undoubtedly he will talk about his election, not the one on Jan. 5.

Further evidence the Republican Party is in tatters. During the Trump era, the GOP has become a shadow of its former self.

Politico reports, "Sen. Josh Hawley on Wednesday pledged to challenge President-elect Joe Biden's victory in Pennsylvania and possibly other states on Jan. 6, when Congress is set to certify the results of the 2020 election.

"The Missouri Republican's announcement guarantees that both chambers will be forced to debate the results of at least one state and vote on whether to accept Biden's victory, a process that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell had urged Republicans to avoid, despite pressure from President Donald Trump, who is urging Republicans to overturn the democratic results.

"Though Hawley's challenge will have no bearing on the ultimate outcome of the election — numerous GOP senators have accepted Biden as president-elect — it will delay the certification of Biden's victory and force every member of the House and Senate on the record affirming Biden's win."

In other words, Hawley is forcing Republicans in Congress to reject the position of the Republican President and defend the Democratic victor, Joe Biden.

This is the position Trump has put the Republican Party in.

A handful of other Republican Senators are likely to join Hawley, but, for the life of me, I can't imagine why.

The erratic Trump forced me out of the Republican Party. I had been a member for over a quarter of a century. I am a declared conservative Independent now. That said, there is only sadness as I see the Republican Party of today. Where is Eisenhower, Reagan, and Bush, Sr.? Gone, perhaps forever.

It is Trump now. A politician who turned lying into an art form and a political tool.

Trump demanded that the Republican governor resign. “@BrianKempGA should resign from office,” Trump said in a tweet. “He is an obstructionist who refuses to admit that we won Georgia, BIG!”

Do Perdue and Loeffler really want Trump to come to Georgia to campaign for them?

CNBC reports, "Axios co-founder Mike Allen told CNBC on Thursday that some Republicans believe President Donald Trump is hurting the party’s chances in next week’s Georgia Senate runoffs.

“There’s a big strain of thought among Republicans that President Trump is sabotaging this race. He’s done so much to be unhelpful to those candidates,” Allen said on “Squawk Box,” referring to GOP Sens. Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue.

“I talk to Republicans and they look at what’s happening, and they say, ’You know, he must be thinking, ‘I want to send a message, If I’m not on the ballot, Republicans are in trouble,’” added Allen, a longtime political reporter in Washington."

Many are convinced that Trump wants to take down the GOP with him. How better than to deprive them of the majority in the Senate?

Because many Americans are weary of a divided government, many are hoping Trump is successful. What this country needs most of all is a unified government to deal with the raging paqndemic as well as other issues.

Such as funding our military. Or current President vetoed that proposal.

Senators Perdue and Loeffler are dedicated Trump loyalists.

A significant number of Republicans are going to challenge the election results on Jan. 6. At least 140 House Republicans to vote against counting electoral votes, two GOP lawmakers say

Republican Sen. Josh Hawley and several Republicans are going to force members of their party to choose between the Republican President -- who lost by over seven million votes and a landslide Electoral College defeat -- or the will of the American people, our Constitution, and federal laws.

The two choices are mutually exclusive. The rebellious Republicans can't have it both ways because they are directly challenging American democracy. They want the Republican President to usurp the power of the people and install himself as our next President.

The Supreme Court, 59 judicial decisions, the Department of Justice, and all 50 states have certified the results of the election. Consequently, election fraud is not an issue, despite what Senator Hawley and others have said.

That is why Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell beseeched his caucus not to get involved in this rebellion.

Notwithstanding Senator Hawley's views which have little relationship to reality, the unruly Republicans have very little to say. They are unwilling to explain themselves and their motives.

Trump's followers on this forum are also silent. There is not one thread from them in support of what Trump is doing and saying. There is not one thread from them in support of what Republicans are doing.

Trump remains in hiding. He refuses to address the American people and is scared to death of the press.

There is only silence from those who challenge our democracy. Their position dictates that they all metaphorically crawl under a rock.

Which is what they are obviously doing.

Trump has been threatening to veto the defense bill over a pet peeve with Twitter for weeks. Twitter has had the temerity to censure Trump's lies in his messages. From this, Trump says all of social media is censuring conservative thought.

Which is another way of saying Trump is acting stupid again. He just can't help himself.

NBC News reports, Trump "has opposed the broad policy bill, demanding it include a repeal of an internet liability law known as Section 230. He also spoke out against provisions in the bill that would strip U.S. military bases of the names of Confederate leaders from the Civil War.

"Trump said Thursday that he plans to follow through on his threat to veto the annual defense policy bill that passed with veto-proof majorities in the House and the Senate last week."

“I will Veto the Defense Bill, which will make China very unhappy. They love it. Must have Section 230 termination, protect our National Monuments and allow for removal of military from far away, and very unappreciative, lands. Thank you!” Trump tweeted Thursday morning.

NBC continued, "The House passed the National Defense Authorization Act by a vote of 335-78 last Tuesday and the Senate passed it 84-13 Friday."

Which, of course, is a veto-proof margin in both Houses.

“I will Veto the Defense Bill." Fine, many say. Veto it, let's see what happens.

Talk about making yourself irrelevant. After losing the popular vote by seven million, after losing the Electoral College vote 306 to 232, after losing 59 court cases because of failure to provide evidence of election fraud, the final indignity.

In the last five weeks of his Presidency, he experiences an override of his veto for the first time in his tenure. That is, if he has the balls to veto it because of a personal grudge.

It has become obvious, Trump's only remaining goal is to create as much chaos as he can up until and including Inaugeration Day, Jan. 20, 2021. He wants to punish the American people for justifiably firing him. He is, by far, the most incompetent President in American history.

Even his supporters ignore him.
Hey,look who is still talking to themselves . Lol. Communist.

Vladimir Putin could not be more pleased with his protégé, President Donald J. Trump, who he helped become President in 2016. Trump's attack on American democracy and the fragmentation of the Republican Party are a blessing to the Russian dictator.
