The realities of the Trump administration

Trump is a loser!

Unless you live on Mars, you know that the Electoral College voted today. Guess what, Trump lost. Some are wondering if the President is going to continue his assault on our Constitution.

So far the loser has been unable to accept reality. It is what losers do.

Trump's followers will not defend their political beliefs.

Or themselves.

It's about freaking time!

Finally, the GOP leadership is acknowledging the obvious. They were embarrassing themselves, and, by supporting Trump's assault on our Constitution, they were harming their party badly.

The Post reports, "Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Tuesday congratulated President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala D. Harris on their victory, one day after the electoral college voted in state capitals across the country.

"McConnell’s remarks came as Biden is heading to Georgia to campaign for the two Democratic Senate candidates competing in runoff elections. The races will determine which party controls the Senate when Biden takes office."

Even as more Republicans acknowledge there will be a new President in January, Trump is continuing to deny reality, which includes the Constitutionally mandated Electoral College vote on Monday. Early Tuesday, he tweeted, “This Fake Election can no longer stand.”

How much longer will the losers (Trump's followers) continue to pay Trump to lie to them? So far, Trump has raised over $200 million dollars.

Trump will go down as the only American President to directly attack our Constitution. His fixation on the election results and alleged fraud -- for which he and his lawyers have never once tried to substantiate -- indicates a mental dysfunction in the form of paranoid schizophrenia.

Or loyalty to his patron, Vladimir Putin, the communist dictator of Russia.

The two explanations are not mutually exclusive.

Trump will go down as the only American President to directly attack our Constitution. His fixation on the election results and alleged fraud -- for which he and his lawyers have never once tried to substantiate -- indicates a mental dysfunction in the form of paranoid schizophrenia.

As per our Constitution, the American people have spoken, and we fired Trump.

As per our Constitution, the 50 states have spoken, and each has certified the election results.

As per our Constitution, the Electoral College has spoken and it elected Joe Biden as our next President.

Despite all this, the Republican Party continues its assault on our Constitution.

Politico reports, “I think we’re past the point where we need to be having conversations about the outcome of this election,” said Christopher Krebs, who ran the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security agency until Trump fired him last month. The attacks from Trump and his GOP allies on the election, he said, are “ultimately corrosive to the institutions that support elections.”

"Krebs issued his plea at a contentious hearing of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, where chairman Sen. Ron Johnson insisted without evidence that fraud had undoubtedly occurred at an undeterminable scale. Johnson also quickly turned over the hearing to three GOP-called witnesses who lodged sweeping, unsupported — and in some cases altogether discredited — claims of election fraud."

Johnson is concerned about Trump's followers, who, as shown on this thread countless times, have limited intellectual capacity.

Politico continued, "Johnson was providing a platform to Trump’s efforts to delegitimize Biden’s win, particularly as he a weighs a reelection bid in 2022 that would lean on Trump’s supporters."

Trump's supporters are not likely to respond. They have proven themselves incapable of defending their party or themselves. They like talking about the Democrats, who are not even in power yet, and they like to make ad hominem attacks on writers.

Trump's supporters are not likely to respond. They have proven themselves incapable of defending their party or themselves.

We are currently undergoing the strangest phenomenon in American history. The American President is MIA. His White House is MIA. As shown on this thread, Trump's followers are MIA.

This is strange. No one wants to talk about Trump -- that includes Trump. For the most part, he has been in hiding since losing the election by seven million votes.

For 19 days following the election Trump did not field a single question from the news media. It was an unprecedented streak of silence for the President of the United States.

On Nov.6, Trump may have intended to answer questions from reporters, but his lie-filled press conference caused the major networks to pull away from the broadcast.

In the face of 2,000 to 3,000 Americans dying each day from the coronavirus, rising hope from the pandemic with two vaccines, vital legislation including pandemic relief for millions plus keeping the government open, a defense bill, cybersecurity threats from Russia, plus other important issues, through it all our President remains silent.

During his self-confinement, Trump has sent out hundreds of tweets dealing with the ludicrous idea he was robbed. Not once has he provided substantiation for the ridiculous idea, thus proving, in fact, that the idea is ridiculous.

It is not just Trump. The entire White House has gone silent except for the occasional lies from McEnany, Trump's press secretary. Trump's cabinet secretaries, chief of staff, national security advisor, and other members of the White House staff are totally silent, not a peep from any of them.

And, as we all know, Trump's followers are completely silent when it comes to Trump. They prefer to talk about the Democrats and writers who write about Trump in a somewhat uncomplimentary manner of speaking.

I said this was strange.

Trump has been threatening to veto the defense bill over a pet peeve with Twitter for weeks. Twitter has had the temerity to censure Trump's lies in his messages. From this, Trump says all of social media is censuring conservative thought.

Which is another way of saying Trump is acting stupid again. He just can't help himself.

NBC News reports, Trump "has opposed the broad policy bill, demanding it include a repeal of an internet liability law known as Section 230. He also spoke out against provisions in the bill that would strip U.S. military bases of the names of Confederate leaders from the Civil War.

"Trump said Thursday that he plans to follow through on his threat to veto the annual defense policy bill that passed with veto-proof majorities in the House and the Senate last week."

“I will Veto the Defense Bill, which will make China very unhappy. They love it. Must have Section 230 termination, protect our National Monuments and allow for removal of military from far away, and very unappreciative, lands. Thank you!” Trump tweeted Thursday morning.

NBC continued, "The House passed the National Defense Authorization Act by a vote of 335-78 last Tuesday and the Senate passed it 84-13 Friday."

Which, of course, is a veto-proof margin in both Houses.

“I will Veto the Defense Bill." Fine, many say. Veto it, let's see what happens.

Talk about making yourself irrelevant. After losing the popular vote by seven million, after losing the Electoral College vote 306 to 232, after losing 59 court cases because of failure to provide evidence of election fraud, the final indignity.

In the last five weeks of his Presidency, he experiences an override of his veto for the first time in his tenure. That is, if he has the balls to veto it because of a personal grudge.

It has become obvious, Trump's only remaining goal is to create as much chaos as he can up until and including Inaugeration Day, Jan. 20, 2021. He wants to punish the American people for justifiably firing him. He is, by far, the most incompetent President in American history.

Even his supporters ignore him.

We are currently undergoing the strangest phenomenon in American history. The American President is MIA. His White House is MIA.

Yesterday was the deadliest day on record for the coronavirus. There were 251,269 new cases and 3,561 Americans lost their lives to the virus.

Our President remained in hiding and said nothing about the overwhelming tragedy.

Although he did tweet that he was happy about the stock market, but failed to mention another 885,000 people filed for first-time unemployment benefits last week.

"Hackers, who American intelligence agencies believed were working for the Kremlin, used a far wider variety of tools than previously known to penetrate government systems, calling the cyberoffensive “a grave risk to the federal government,” the Times.

Our President remained in hiding and said nothing about the national security threat.

Trump will not be critical of his patron, Vladimir Putin. He believes Putin over American intelligence. Trump sides with Putin over US intelligence

Incredibly, even the national security advisor is silent about the threat to Americans. The White House remains absolutely silent, too, on everything.

It is puzzling to many that some Americans are actually supporting Trump. No one knows why, and his fans are not talking. Go figure.

It is puzzling to many that some Americans are actually supporting Trump. No one knows why, and his fans are not talking. Go figure.

Trump has suffered another major defeat at the hands of the Supreme Court that includes three of his appointees. The Justices regard the Constitution as more important than Trump, and Trump is rapidly running out of time to do anything about this issue.

Besides, as shown, he no longer is serious about his duties as President.

It is mixed blessing, which happens often with SCOTUS decisions, but basically "the Supreme Court on Friday threw out a challenge for now to President Donald Trump's bid to exclude undocumented immigrants from being counted when seats in Congress are divvied up between the states next year."

The court knocked the case as being "riddled with contingencies and speculation that impede judicial review."

Biden takes control of the Oval Office on Jan. 20. Between now and then, Trump is consumed by his election defeat and intends to continue creating chaos.

Meanwhile Trump, the White House, and Trump's followers remain silent. Other than Trump's distorted tweets, they can't even support their own political views.

We are currently undergoing the strangest phenomenon in American history. The American President is MIA. His White House is MIA. Trump's followers are MIA.
Vladimir Putin, the Russian dictator and a dedicated communist, went to a great deal of trouble to get Trump elected President in 2016.

For the third day in a row over 3,000 Americans lost their lives to the coronavirus.

A federal government shutdown is looming.

The Covid relief bill is stalled in the Republican Senate. McConnell's aspiring words about the bill did not inspire Senate passage.

"American officials suspect a Russian spy agency has carried out what may be the most successful cyber infiltrations of U.S. government and corporate institutions in history," NBC News.

Through it all, our President is AWOL.

However, behind the scenes, Trump is weakening the American government as per Putin's wishes.

Of course, the leading force against the Russian attack is the Pentagon. "Acting Defense Secretary Chris Miller ordered a Pentagon-wide halt to cooperation with the transition of President-elect Biden, shocking officials across the Defense Department," Axios.

"Trump has carried out sweeping changes atop the Defense Department's civilian leadership structure, removing several of its most senior officials and replacing them with perceived loyalists to the President [Miller]." CNN. The mass firing includes the defense secretary and the cyber security director, Chris Krebs.

The defense bill has been approved by Congress with veto proof margins, indicating serious need. It contains provisions to fight cyber attacks. Our President wants to veto the bill because of a personal problem he has with Twitter [Twitter had the audacity to censure his many lies]. Also, he doesn't want name changes involving military bases with Confederate names.

Trump remains in hiding, firing off tweets about the election weeks ago and refuses to speak to the American people. Also, because of the ludicrous things he is doing and the important things he is not doing, our President is scared to death of the press.

Trump and the White House are not the only ones remaining silent.

So are Trump's followers.

But Putin is immensely pleased with Trump's performance.

In accordance with Putin's wishes, Trump continues his attempts to create chaos at the highest levels of our government. It is time we stop paying attention to what this loser says and does. He does it for attention and the money.

Putin wants to weaken the American government, and Trump's followers are actually paying Trump to do just that.

CNBC reports, "Trump suggested Saturday that China might have been behind a cyberattack affecting multiple U.S. government agencies and companies, despite Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s allegation hours earlier that Russia was likely behind the attack.

"The assertion adds confusion to an already complex situation, as cybersecurity workers strive to figure out a hack that came to light less than week ago. At that time Reuters reported, citing people familiar with the matter, that attackers were affiliated with Russia."

Putin is delighted with Trump's activities, and so are Trump's followers and several Republican members of Congress.

The media should end its coverage of Trump. They are doing exactly what Trump wants them to do. Trump doesn't mind making a complete fool of himself as long as he is getting attention in the press.

In the meantime, Trump remains in hiding, scared to death of facing the American public and the press.

There will be no reaction from Trump's followers. In a note of pure irony, Trump's followers largely ignore Trump. He is an embarrassment.

MICHAEL KRUSE opines, "Trump has never had a week like the week he just had. On the heels of the Supreme Court’s knock-back and the Electoral College’s knockout, some of his most reliable supporters—Mitch McConnell, Vladimir Putin, Newsmax—acknowledged and affirmed the actual fact of the matter. Trump is a loser.

"Consequently, he is plainly out of sorts, say former close associates, longtime Trump watchers and mental health experts.

"It’s not just his odd behavior—the testy, tiny desk session with the press, the stilted Medal of Freedom ceremony that ended with his awkward exit, the cut-short trip to the Army-Navy football game. It’s even more pointedly his conspicuous and ongoing absences. The narcissistic Trump has spent the last half a century—but especially the last half a decade—making himself and keeping himself the most paid-attention-to person on the planet. But in the month and a half since Election Day, Trump has been seen and heard relatively sparingly and sporadically. No-showing unexpectedly at a Christmas party, sticking to consistently sparse public schedules and speaking mainly through his increasingly manic Twitter feed, he’s been fixated more than anything else on his baseless insistence that he won the election."

Kruse isn't the only one who thinks Trump has gone weird. So do Trump's followers. They are completely ignoring what Trump is doing and tweeting. He is an embarrassment.

Right, and Biden won the debates as well, has nothing to do with our political preferences:auiqs.jpg:

Outgoing Attorney General William P. Barr, formerly Trump's personal lawyer, broke with Trump today on every major issue embraced by the befuddled President. Barr saw no basis for the federal government seizing voting machines, and he did not intend to appoint a special counsel to investigate Hunter Biden or allegations of voter fraud.

Barr — who has just two days left in office — asserted he saw “no basis now for seizing machines by the federal government,” and he would not name a special counsel to explore the allegations of Trump and his allies.

“If I thought a special counsel at this stage was the right tool and was appropriate, I would name one, but I haven’t, and I’m not going to,” Barr said.

Barr said he would not name a special counsel to investigate Hunter Biden, and that the investigation was “being handled responsibly and professionally” by regular Justice Department prosecutors.

Barr also put himself at odds with Trump in attributing recently uncovered cyberhacks of the U.S. government to Russia. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo blamed Russia, and Barr said he agreed with Pompeo. Trump suggested on Twitter China might be the culprit.

There is no indication that anyone in a position of power and authority are listening to the rantings of our deranged President. Trump may be able do things on his own -- such as pardon his felonious associates, members of his family, and himself -- but it is unlikely he will get any cooperation from others in responsible roles.

These people would include Barr, secretary of state Pompeo, Trump's chief of staff Meadows, Senate Majority Leader McConnell, the governors and secretaries of state of all 50 states, White House counsel Cipollone, the army chief of staff and army secretary (martial law, the latter appointed by Trump), and others.

We are getting only bluster from Trump who has only 30 days left in office. We don't have anything to worry about. I am actually hoping he pardons members of his family and/or himself. That will really make him look like a jackass.

There is no indication that anyone in a position of power and authority are listening to the rantings of our deranged President.

Funny thing about Trump and his supporters.

They don't say anything!

That includes Trump, who remains in hiding since the election over a month and a half ago. Trump and his supporters continue to evade the media and reporters. It can only be because they are ashamed of themselves.

That includes Trump, who knows he is making a complete fool of himself and is scared to death of the press.

That includes the entire White House. Pompeo was allowed to speak recently, blaming Russia for the extremely serious cyber attack, only to be shot down by a Putin fan whose last name is Trump. No one else has been allowed to speak, and that includes the entire cabinet. McEnany, whose sole purpose is to lie to the White House press corps, doesn't count.

A small group of Trump's most loyal backers in Congress are plotting a final-stage challenge on the floor of the House on Jan. 6. Led by Representative Mo Brooks, Republican from Alabama, a fire-breathing, far right conservative, we don't know who these "loyal backers" are because they are not talking to the media, either.

A handful of Republican Senators who support the scheme that is destined to fail avoid the press as well.

Then we have Trump's followers on this forum, who are rapidly diminishing in number. As this thread and others like it show, Trump's fans are avoiding the actions and tweets of Trump. They have no problem criticizing Biden and Harris, who haven't even taken office yet, but Trump is a topic to be avoided at all cost.

A politician's supporters being silent? That is extremely odd. In fact, it may even be a first. There is only one possible explanation.

They are all embarrassed of their support for a proven fool.

As proof of that assertion, there will be no plausible response to this report from Trump's followers.

Funny thing about Trump and his supporters.

They don't say anything!

In place of the missing President is the acting President Joe Biden, and he is doing what he can.

Today, so far, 2,869 Americans have died from the coronavirus, there are fears of a mutated strain of the virus, and, while Trump says nothing, Biden is warning Americans that the worst is yet to come despite the two vaccines.

While Trump is saying and doing nothing about being vaccinated, Biden is leading the nation by getting vaccinated, proving to Americans it is safe.

While Trump avoids the media, Biden is active on the media, explaining his position on vital matters and keeping Americans informed about his staff and cabinet choices.

Russia launched a major cyber attack against our government and key industries. Trump downplayed it and blamed China.

Biden tore into Trump's reaction to a hacking campaign that has torn through U.S. government agencies and businesses and that experts believe is the work of Russian intelligence. He ripped Trump for an "irrational downplaying of the seriousness of this attack," and called the breach a “grave risk to our national security."

Then the acting President warned Russia. He said that once he learns “the extent of the damage” from the DoD, he would, as President, respond “in kind.”

Note: The DoD called a halt to the transition process.

The current President has said nothing about retaliation, and he most likely won't ... ever.

This was not entirely unexpected. Recently, I asserted that, between now and Jan. 20, Trump will be a complete jackass. Once again, he has proven me correct.

Trump refused to sign the stimulus bill. He surprised GOP leaders in Congress and the media, but he did not surprise those who know Trump all too well.

CNN reports, "Trump on Tuesday said he is asking for changes to the coronavirus relief bill passed by Congress, leaving the future of the $900 billion stimulus in doubt.

"Trump's position could threaten to torpedo the carefully drafted bill, which his own administration helped negotiate -- a move that could lead to a government shutdown and send the economy into a tailspin if he carried through with a veto."

"I'm asking Congress to amend this bill and increase the ridiculously low $600 to $2000 or $4000 per couple," Trump said in a video released on Twitter. "I'm also asking Congress to immediately get rid of the wasteful and unnecessary items in this legislation or to send me a suitable bill."

The extraordinary message came after he largely left negotiations over the measure to lawmakers and his Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin. Trump did not explicitly threaten to veto the bill, but said he was dissatisfied with its final state.

That is typical Trump. Create chaos with a tweet, but don't do anything beyond the rhetoric.

For weeks Trump threaten to veto the defense bill because of his personal problem with Twitter and he likes Confederate names on military bases. The bill was passed overwhelmingly by Congress nearly two weeks ago.

Similar to the stimulus bill, it is still sitting on Trump's desk. Trump has done nothing.

That has been his pattern since he lost the election by over seven million votes.

The stimulus bill is tied irrevocably to preventing a government shutdown. If the bill is not approved, the government shuts down in a week.

CNN reported that the stimulus bill was passed with veto proof margins, as was the defense bill.

It is possible that with 30 days left in office, the Republican Senate will, for the first time, approve overriding Trump's veto -- twice!

Which, of course, is the reason Trump doesn't have the balls to veto either bill. He is all talk, and his sole purpose is to create chaos, not do anything meaningful.

Well, I was wrong about that. Once again I underestimated Trump's abject stupidity. I simply never considered that he would be so stupid as to undermine his political allies in Congress, piss off the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and throw two Republicans Senators running for reelection thirteen days from now under the bus. The two Senators in question voted for the defense bill.

Trump vetoed the defense bill.

It takes a genius to accomplish that amount of stupidity.

CNBC reports, "Trump on Wednesday vetoed the sweeping defense bill that authorizes a topline of $740 billion in spending and outlines Pentagon policy."

In a statement to Congress, Trump provided some B.S. about respect for veterans, our military's history, and failure to put America first.

Then he added, “It is a ‘gift’ to China and Russia,” without citing specific details.

Trump never provides details. We are supposed to guess.

CNBC continued, "Earlier this month, the National Defense Authorization Act passed both houses of Congress by veto-proof margins, meaning that any veto by Trump would likely be overridden.

"Congress must now vote again to override Trump. The House is slated to return from a holiday break on Monday, and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has said his chamber would vote on overriding the veto Tuesday."

Why, as he is going out the door, is Trump subjecting himself to the indignity of having his veto overridden by members of his own party for spurious personal reasons is a mystery.

Stupidity, I guess. Trump's supporters are nowhere around to provide an alternative, rational reason. Of course, when it comes to Trump, they remain silent.

Trump refused to sign the stimulus bill. He surprised GOP leaders in Congress and the media, but he did not surprise those who know Trump all too well.

As Trump scampers off to Mar-a-Lago for the holidays -- many are hoping he stays there -- he leaves behind mass confusion in the capital. We know he foolishly vetoed the defense bill. Will he do the same with the stimulus bill?

No one knows, but that is what Trump wants, mass confusion and chaos.

By failing to sign the stimulus bill, he is throwing his treasury secretary, Steve Mnuchin, under the bus. Mnuchin negotiated the deal with members of Congress.

Trump is refusing to sign a bill negotiated by his own administration.

How stupid is that?

Georgia Republican Senators Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue are so enthralled with Trump they supported a lawsuit by the attorney general from Texas that would have disenfranchised Georgian voters.

With thirteen days to go, they both enthusiastically voted for the stimulus bill Trump refused to sign before leaving for Mar-a-Lago. No doubt, thousands of Georgians were looking forward to the help the two Republican Senators voted for.

Trump threw those Senators under the bus, too. Do they support the bill they voted for that is badly needed by the people of Georgia or do they support their misguided hero, Trump?

Recalling that Republican members of the House will challenge the will of the people in the Presidential election, some wonder if Trump realizes that the chaos he is creating is destroying the Republican Party.

Naw!

Trump is once again proving he is, by far, the worst President this country has ever known.

Going into hiding after losing the election by over seven million votes and after weeks of claiming election fraud with no evidence -- the same can be said of his lawyers in 59 cases all of which he lost -- after pardoning four murderers the previous day, "Trump doled out clemency to a new group of loyalists on Wednesday, wiping away convictions and sentences as he aggressively employed his power to override courts, juries and prosecutors to apply his own standard of justice for his allies," according to the Times.

The Times continued, "One recipient of a pardon was a family member, Charles Kushner, the father of his son-in-law, Jared Kushner. Two others who were pardoned declined to cooperate with prosecutors in connection with the special counsel’s Russia investigation: Paul Manafort, his 2016 campaign chairman, and Roger J. Stone Jr., his longtime informal adviser and friend."

Trump granted "On Tuesday a pre-Christmas wave of grants of clemency to 20 convicts, more than half of whom did not meet the Justice Department guidelines for consideration of pardons or commutations. They included a former Blackwater guard sentenced to life in prison for his role in the killing of 17 Iraqi civilians in 2007."

The silence from Trump's followers is both deafening and highly significant.

The grinch who stole Christmas!

If the stimulus/government funding bill is not signed into law, this is what happens.

More than 12 million laid-off Americans could lose their unemployment benefits two days after Christmas.

Renters' back rent will be due January 1 if the eviction moratorium is allowed to expire. Without rent relief or an extension of the protection, many struggling renters will again face eviction.

Contrary to what SecTreas Mnuchin said, the checks will not be in the mail by Monday, referring to the $600 per person.

The government shuts down Monday.

What kind of evil would allow all that to happen? Who is this grinch?

Unconcerned, Trump traveled to Mar-a-Lago and went golfing.
