Here’s a conspiracy theory I’m only half joking about: the world isn’t actually run by governments, billionaires, or lizard people. It’s run by insurance companies.

Think about it—every major policy, law, or international decision boils down to one thing: risk of payout. Doesn’t matter who’s in office. Doesn’t matter what flag’s flying. The real power is held by some quiet guy in a suit with a spreadsheet muttering, “Yeah, but what’s our liability exposure?

Wars? Covered—but only if they’re profitable and the paperwork’s solid. Climate change? Only taken seriously once coastal insurance premiums started looking like lottery jackpots. Pandemics? Forget flattening the curve—we’re flattening the claims.

You can vote, protest, or stage a revolution if you like, but behind the scenes, the big decisions are being made by people who just really don’t want to pay out on your flood damage.

It’s not about freedom or justice. It’s about actuarial tables.

So… am I crazy, or have we all just been living inside one giant global policy with a $10 trillion deductible?

Insurance companies are why I quit pre-med studies, over forty years ago. It became obvious to me, what the practice of medicine was going to turn into.

They rule the health care industry, as working class Americans are about to find out!

Beyond healthcare, they rule every aspect of our economy

Business does not do things if insurers threaten to drop them.

Yes, but the power of propaganda can easily convince the working class that big business is their friend.

You have to accept that America is different. The working class has gone to Trump, in numbers that will most likely become Trump's frontline against any democratic opposition.

It was the perfect storm. Democracy shit on them for nearly a hundred years. That wasn't just the D party.

Has nothing to do with the influence of the insurance industry

America is in a never-ending fight for affordable healthcare for all it's citizens.

I'll leave you to determining the reason why it's never-ending.

What makes you think healthcare will ever end?

Exactly—because if the kid hands over his lunch money,
  • the bully gets his payout,
  • the teacher avoids paperwork,
  • the nurse gets to bill $75 for an ice pack,
  • and the insurance company quietly raises the kid’s premium for “excessive exposure to conflict zones.”

Everyone wins—except the kid.
But hey, at least it’s peaceful extortion.™
