Here’s a conspiracy theory I’m only half joking about: the world isn’t actually run by governments, billionaires, or lizard people. It’s run by insurance companies.
Think about it—every major policy, law, or international decision boils down to one thing: risk of payout. Doesn’t matter who’s in office. Doesn’t matter what flag’s flying. The real power is held by some quiet guy in a suit with a spreadsheet muttering, “Yeah, but what’s our liability exposure?”
Wars? Covered—but only if they’re profitable and the paperwork’s solid. Climate change? Only taken seriously once coastal insurance premiums started looking like lottery jackpots. Pandemics? Forget flattening the curve—we’re flattening the claims.
You can vote, protest, or stage a revolution if you like, but behind the scenes, the big decisions are being made by people who just really don’t want to pay out on your flood damage.
It’s not about freedom or justice. It’s about actuarial tables.
So… am I crazy, or have we all just been living inside one giant global policy with a $10 trillion deductible?
