While gratitude is known as the most important of virtues,
courage is the rarest.
1.One of the greatest of disappointments is the latest version of character of the British public. As noted by Melanie Phillips, none other than Sayed Qutb, a founder of violent Islamism, correctly
criticizes British society, thus:
āā¦perception of Western decadence. British Muslims are overwhelmingly horrified and disgusted by the louche and dissolute behavior of a Britain that has torn up the notion of respectability. They observe the alcoholism, drug abuse and pornography, the breakdown of family life and the encouragement of promiscuity, and find themselves therefore in opposition to their host society's guiding values. What they are recoiling from, of course, is
the breakdown of Western values. After a visit to the United States in 1948, Sayed Qutb wrote: "Humanity today is living in a large brothel!" Similarly, British Muslims have concluded that the society that expects them to identify with it is a moral cesspit. Is it any wonder, therefore, that they reject it?ā
Muslims, therefore, have a religious duty to change Britain into an Islamic society.
And
the British public, having abandoned their heritage, belief in their religion, and their backbone, are not willing to put up a strong resistance to same.
2. Well, not all Brits.
George Leonard Carey, Baron Carey of Clifton, the retired Anglican bishop who was the Archbishop of Canterbury, gave quite a speech on the subject of āChristianity and Islam,ā

āā¦wherever we look, Islam seems to be embroiled in conflict with other faiths and other cultures. It is in opposition to practically every other world religion- to Judaism in the Middle East; to Christianity in the West, in Nigeria, and in the Middle East; to Hinduism in India; to Buddhism, especially since the destruction of the Temples in Afghanistan.
We are presented therefore with a huge
puzzle concerning Islam. Why is it associated with violence throughout the world?
Listen to Samuel Huntington, one of the most important voices in these matters in recent days. In 1993 he published a controversial essay entitled āThe Clash of Civilisationsā. His thesis was that the collapse of communism signalled the end of ideological battles of the political kind. Western capitalism was now dominant. The next battle he claimed will be the clash of cultures, with Islamic and Christian civilisations separating the world.
In 1997 he published a book of the same name, modifying the thesis but retaining the underlying argument that a clash between two great cultures was inevitable. In an extraordinary claim he insisted: āIslamās borders are bloody and so are its innards.
The fundamental problem for the West is not Islamic fundamentalism. It is Islam, a different civilisation whose people are convinced of the superiority of their culture and are obsessed with the inferiority of their powerā.

Is it possible for Islam to change?
Christianity; and Christians more specifically need to clean up their own yard, before casting aspersions at someone elseās. For all itās deficiencies, and there are many; Islam has some strengths that modern Christianity fails to be able to compete with. Namely the things the Muslim in the article pointed out. This new feminized version of Christianity whoās only remaining virtue from the olden days... That of turning the other cheek... Is getting ***** slapped like a whore who came up short.

Islam is a peaceful religion because most Muslims live peacefully and that only a "tiny minority of extremists" practice violence? That's like saying that White supremacy must be perfectly fine since only a tiny minority of racists ever hurt anyone. Neither does it explain why religious violence is largely endemic to Islam, despite the tremendous persecution of religious minorities in Muslim countries.
In truth, even a tiny minority of "1%" of Muslims worldwide translates to 15 million believers - which is hardly an insignificant number. However, the "minority" of Muslims who approve of terrorists, their goals, or their means of achieving them is much greater than this. In fact, it isn't even a true minority in some cases, depending on how goals and targets are defined.

Boy, 8, was killed; his mother rolled to safety
(NEWSER) ā A man standing among passengers at a train station in Germany on Monday pushed a woman and her 8-year-old son onto the tracks, in the path of a high-speed train. The boy was hit and killed instantly; his mother survived. Witnesses at the main Frankfurt station ran after the attacker, tackled him, and held him until he could be arrested, the
Guardian reports. Police said the suspect tried to push another person onto the tracks who was able to fight him off. The boy's mother avoided being hit by the train by rolling into a space between platforms, police said. She was being treated Monday for shock.
Frankfurt police said the suspect is a 40-year-old man from Eritrea. They've found no connection between the man and the victims, and said they don't know of any possible motive. Germany's interior minister called the crime a "horrific
act" but cautioned not to jump to conclusions before the investigation is complete, per
Reuters. "The background to this heinous crime is still unclear," he said. Germany had a similar killing earlier this month, when a woman was pushed in front of a train in the town of Voerde; police said the suspect in that case didn't know the victim, either. Officials have warned passengers to stay away from the edge of the platform in train stations, and to watch for people who appear to be distressed. (Read more
