While Daniel and his fellow Jews were held captive in Babylon, Daniel said there would be a day in which an edict would be given to rebuild Jerusalem. And in 445 BC the Jews had returned to their land and an edict to rebuild the walls and gates of Jerusalem was given. And Daniel said 173,879 days after that edict the Messiah would enter the gates of Jerusalem. And on that day Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey. This is what we today call Palm Sunday.
For centuries some people said the accuracy was too great, Daniel was obviously written after Jesus.
Then in 1948 a Shepard boy walked into a cave at Qumran and discovered what we know today as the Dead Sea Scrolls. Among them were 12 copies of the Book of Daniel dating a century before Jesus was born.
