The problems with Trump's "anger your allies" policy

So, Trump is actively angering certain countries, like Denmark (in the EU), Canada and Panama.

How will this impact the US in the future.

The main one, I'd support, especially from a Trumponian point of view, is MONEY.

"In FY2024 the total value of transferred defense articles and services and security cooperation activities conducted under the Foreign Military Sales system was $117.9 billion. "

The US made $117 billion from selling military weapons to foreign countries.

"
  • Türkiye – F-16 Aircraft Acquisition and Modernization ($23.0 billion)
  • Israel – F-15IA and F-15I+ Aircraft ($18.8 billion)
  • Romania – F-35 Aircraft ($7.2 billion)
  • Germany – PATRIOT Advanced Capability-3 Missile Segment Enhancement Missiles ($5.0 billion)
  • Japan – KC-46A Aerial Refueling Aircraft ($4.1 billion)
  • India – MQ-9B Remotely Piloted Aircraft ($4.0 billion)
  • Republic of Korea – AH-64E Apache Helicopters ($3.5 billion)
  • Spain – PATRIOT Configuration-3+ Modernized Fire Units ($2.8 billion)
  • Saudi Arabia – System Logistics and Sustainment Support ($2.8 billion)
  • Romania – M1A2 Abrams Main Battle ($2.5 billion)
  • Japan – Tomahawk Weapon System ($2.4 billion)
  • Bahrain – M1A2 Abrams Main Battle Tanks ($2.2 billion)
  • Australia – AUKUS-related Training and Training Devices ($2.0 billion)
  • Greece – UH-60M Black Hawk Helicopters ($1.95 billion)
  • Norway – AIM-120C-8 Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missiles ($1.94 billion)
  • Poland – AGM-158B-2 Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile with Extended Range ($1.77 billion)
  • Poland – AIM-120C-8 Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missiles ($1.69 billion) Poland – Advanced Anti-Radiation Guided Missiles – Extended Range ($1.275 billion)
  • Poland – Airspace and Surface Radar Reconnaissance ($1.2 billion)
  • Austria – UH-60M Blackhawk Helicopters ($1.05 billion)
  • Saudia Arabia – Blanket Order Training ($1 billion) "

Right there you have $17.9 billion going to EU countries, and these are examples for 2024

For 2023 you have:

"Poland bought Apache helicopters for $12bn, and also paid $10bn for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (Himars) and $3.75bn for M1A1 Abrams tanks," "It also spent $4bn on Integrated Air and Missile Defence Battle Command Systems."

That is a lot of money, nearly $30 billion just to Poland. As the EU now mistrusts the US, it will almost certainly start producing more of its own weaponry, and the US will lose a lot of this money.
No kidding, that's almost as much as DOGE has saved so far.

With America being less reliable as a trading partner and Trump's call for NATO countries to increase their defense spending, there is growing sentiment for that money to go towards non-American military equipment. We already have Canada balking on further purchases of our fighter jets. This opens greater opportunity for European manufacturers of the Eurofighter Typhoon, Dassault Rafale, and the Saab Gripen.

USMCA hasn't worked. How much faith should be given Trump's latest foreign trade efforts? Wall Street sure isn't showing much confidence.

This is Britain, not America.

You do know that UK parlament you've cited is in Britain, not America...right?

Is it really so hard to keep track of 2 post conversation?

No kidding, that's almost as much as DOGE has saved so far.
DOGE has saved nothing as far as I have seen other than the salaries for workers who will have to be rehired or replaced to keep things running.

I don't see any military spending by Denmark or Panama. Who cares if they have a hissy fit?
Denmark spends more than the NATO benchmark and sent troops to Afghanistan. Vance lied.

No kidding, that's almost as much as DOGE has saved so far.

You mean saved by NOT PAYING AMERICANS?

Thats what you "Thinker" are saying offsets foreign countries paying Americans for weapons? :slap:

Yep, saving from not paying "workers" that don't do anything, in departments that don't do anything. Hell, that sounds a lot like you.

Next to Trump, China looks like the adult in the room when it comes to free trade.

China will offer trade agreements while Trump demands tariffs

Nope. That is your thinking failing. Trump is ready to make a real deal. China is looking to fuck you.

Trump is attempting to make deals by insulting and threatening other countries

China will come in as the good guys who are offering trade partnerships rather than trade wars

Just watch.

They did indeed. You claiming they didn’t ??
Social Security plans on laying off 7,000 of the 57,000 employees they had fricken idiot. Does that mean no one will receive SS? When I asked how stupid can you get, that was rhetorical, most of us already know how stupid you can get.

Does it mean people will not get their SS checks?
Probably not

What will losing 12 percent of your workforce mean

May take longer for those filing for benefits to get approved
If there is an error in your claim, it will take longer to get an appointment.

It will be easier to get fake SS disability claims approved and harder to identify those who no longer qualify.

That doesn't mean anything. Trump wants money, but he'll lose money.

It's like Brexit in the US, going around saying how much richer everyone will be, but most people are poorer. The same will happen to the US.
YES COULD NOT believe Brexit, How they ever they bought that one?

So, you're saying that we should continue being everyone else's patsy and piggy bank?
