Is it possible that the rise of Trump in the RNC is backlash too that autopsy report? That many on the right are resisting the idea that they have too play nice with other groups in order to win the whitehouse?
It is a bit speculative, but the quote " he tells it like it is" is bothersome. Trump generalizes what he sees and overstates it. That is not "telling it like it is"!!

He's certainly put it out there in full view--and after the election slaughter it's hard to imagine he'll be able to sell wine & steaks under the Trump name, they may do like advertisers and just drop him like a hot potato.

I think that is possible. Actually, very likely and Trump is a prime example that the party has lost it's way and the only ones steering the ship are either too meek or are in fact just the mental cases who have taken over.
The GOP has been pandering to radicals for years, where were the more sober Republicans back then? Celebrating Reagan and W, never gave much of a thought as to what and who was responsive to their dog whistles.
Jake doesn't think so, it's all going to work itself out. Hell, I think he believes it's going to be easy.

One of the biggest problems a Trump supporter has is they do not understand the makeup of the general electorate. Republicans are the minority party at around 41 million, Democrats are stronger at 46 million, and the largest voting block are Independents who make up about 40% of the entire electorate.
There is no mathematical possibility of (if every Republican voted for the nominee that they would win the White House.) Any candidate is required to win Independents. To do that you have to have a moderate candidate that attracts those Independents. Too far right, too far left, don't get close to the starting block. This country is center, it always has been, it always will be.
Republicans not learning from the loss of 2012, again put up several candidates that could never win the largest voting block in this country (women) in 2016. They were Ted Cruz, Mike Huckabee, Rick Santorum, Bobby Jindal, Rick Perry, Scott Walker, & Rand Paul. These guys were too extreme on abortion. There really is no candidate that can win a National election for the White House if they don't give the 3 exceptions, for the life of the mother, rape and incest.

So they have been spoon fed this Reich wing partisanship--and frankly think everyone thinks like them--(especially in the Republican party)--and that's where they hit the wall.
Really the Tea Party or Reich wingers only make up about 20% of the entire party, the rest of the party are moderates whom are commonly referred to as Rino's who the Reich wing has been at war with for at least the last 4 years. They also don't have a basic understanding of civics.
The Reich wing are angry because Republicans have had majorities in both houses and they expected too much, not understanding basic civics.
1. You cannot defund Obamacare and leave millions that were forced onto this program without insurance overnight. (The house could do that, but the odds of getting a Republican elected as dog catcher afterwards would be zero to none.)
2. It does no good to send up 30 house bills to repeal Obamacare with Obama sitting in the Oval office with a veto pen. To repeal Obamacare would require a sitting Republican President with super majorities in both houses. That's how we got Obamacare that's the only way to repeal it.
3. You cannot threaten to shut down the government, been there done that, it only backfires on the Republican party.
4. It does no good to read Green Eggs and ham from the United Senate floor over Obamacare.
So what have house Republicans been doing for the last 4 years. Holding Benghazi hearings--8 of them in a political dog and pony show at taxpayer expense that also backfired on them.
And it couldn't be better stated than this:
"Herein lies a lesson for Republicans who are perpetually trying to appease the far right: It’s a fool’s errand. They went to the tea party – and now they’re taking Donald Trump to the prom. Likewise, then-House Speaker John Boehner named the Benghazi committee because activists were dissatisfied that seven previous congressional investigations had failed to uncover major scandal material. Trump is asking why the US doesn't use nuclear weapons. He's a birther and believes voter fraud is rampant. On a good day he's as bad as Alex Jones.
There is no comparison of competence between Trump and Clinton. Clinton has an in depth understanding of how government works, Trump struggles with combing his 'hair'.

Hillary can't tell the truth to save her life. How can anyone believe anything that she says. She has lied about Libya, lied about her emails, lied about her not ever having two phones, which is really funny because who in the hell cares, lied about Bosnia and when confronted with lies, she will double down. She lied about Pat Smith and called her a liar.
I can compare them to each other because you can't trust what either one will say. All their promises are worthless.
