Tracking terms like "conservative" across generations is ...shaky are best, and the lessons to be learned are to be taken with quite a few grains of salt.


IM2 seems to be very racist against whites today. "white allay"? What if a white person has no desire to be a "white ally"? What if a white person thinks that the time of the klan's heyday was over a century ago, and doesn't give a fuck?

100%. Democrats couldn't get elected up until about 1960, without an endorsement from the KKK. In some places, even later, like the former governor of Virginia, Ralph Northam, who was in the KKK at least until 1984.

The 1920's KKK was probably the least virulent of the three period versions.

It was setup as like a WASP version of the Freemasons or Knights of Columbus, and much of their angst was against non northern European immigrants. They also downplayed the violence aspect, even if they still kept it as part of their toolbox.
