The only way we can help jobs in this country is to elect a Republican President

It is their responsibility to help the country. We are almost one year into the republican House.......where is the important legislation?

What have they done for America?

Nothing.

Which is why electing a republican president will also result in nothing being done.

The house does not make the congress. Why should they put any effort to do the paper work get the votes maybe get it passed in the senate to be vetoed by obama? Best thing the republicans =better do is defund obama care. Which is why the REPUBLICANS were sent to D.C. in last yeaqrs election. Oh and the actual time they have been in controll of the house is 8 months and 18 days The democrats controlled congress for 4 years and two of those years obama was president plus obama was a senator duing 2 of the 4 years

Congressional democrats, in great numbers, refused to raise the Debt Ceiling, when exactly? Or refused to pass any legislation at all, when exactly? Bush got nearly everything he wanted. Had he not been such a boob..on the basis of legislation alone, he'd go down in history as being one of the MOST successful presidents.

Of course he ruined the fucking country.

Great deflection let's repeat again

Actually, the best Federal government configuration is Congress controlled by the GOP and a democratic president. After their little food-fight in 1995 Clinton and the republican Congress were able to achieve some worthwhile goals such as Welfare Reform and a balanced budget. A republican Congress ensures fiscal responsibility, a democratic president ensures our civil rights, appointing judges and justices to the courts who will uphold individual liberty.

The problem with the above is of course the TPM, who unlike their counterparts during the 90s, doesn't believe in responsible governance.

Anyone can clearly see that when Democrats took control of congress in 2007 they destroyed the jobs in this country.

I have come to the realization that there is no way that electing Obama President in 2012 will help the jobs picture. We need to put in a Republican if we hope to improve employment in this country

As long as Obama is President, Republicans will block any jobs bill that can help improve employment. Not a single bill can pass until Republicans get the President that they want

So why don't we just admit the obvious and let the Republicans do what they want? We will have gridlock until we do

I really do not care how you rationalize it, as long as you realize voting for Obama is a mistake.

Lets remember when they won they said right away it was more important to make Obama a one termer than to do the peoples business

Oh waaaa, like you Democrats were working your asses off to MAKE Bush a second termer..
get a grip,
but I do hope WE THE PEOPLE succeed in making Obama a ONE TERMER.

Yes comrade

We see how well Papa Obama's First Pork Bill worked in reducing unemployment
The people have full faith, this one will work just as well

Yes we believe
"Chocolate rations have gone up to 30%"

Irony or tragedy?

Knowing some NJ workers whose jobs were saved and the transition nationwide from losing jobs to gaining jobs, the stimulus obviously worked. It was the republicans who caused its milquetoast results. Few seem to remember Reagan's government growth, great debt, and debtor nation status along with the S&L bailout. Bush Sr suffered the results of that supply-side stupidity. Obama suffers the same from Bush Jr's inept management and unfunded wars. But the republican machine has big money and great power over the ahistorical youths of today. Consider the ideologues another republican ideologue would put in judgeships and any sensible citizen should shudder. Soon freedom will mean slavery and the repubs will praise the change and call it freedom.

"Republicans, of course, cloak themselves in the rhetoric of freedom and necessity and express concern about future generations. That the beast they would slay ultimately translates to the lives of American citizens, including some of the most vulnerable who depend on government social programs to which they enjoy legal, political, and moral entitlement, is irrelevant. Hatred of government is a disease with them. They loathe common purpose and project, especially when channeled through the state. Their hatred of government, it seems to me, is tantamount to hatred of country." Steven Johnston The Contemporary Condition: Why Do Republicans Hate America?

I hear you

too bad Papa Obama had to take all that money from Wall Street

We can see all the "Love" that the Democrats are bringing to the US
Which might be why, the US voter kicked them out of the House
last election.

They just can't handle all that love ....

You theory suggests that those with money will stand aside and allow the nation to crash unless they get exactly what they want.

I'm inclined to agree.

Really

the theory suggests that Papa Obama's plans will make any real difference
and is more than just a political stunt for the next election

However, we all know that it will not make a difference
and is nothing more than a political stunt

I'm inclined to agree

IF the Obama really wanted to help this country...

He'd RESIGN as of yesterday. The man is too set or too stupid in his ways to CHANGE. The people are telling him they don't BELIEVE in him and yet he STAYS THE SAME. He can't change direction because HIS BASE would crucify him..

Then might we see SOME REAL progress.

Stephen Chapman of the Chicago Tribune’s editorial board writes in the paper that it’s time for Papa Obama to call it quits :

I checked the Constitution, and he is under no compulsion to run for re-election. He can scrap the campaign, bag the fundraising calls and never watch another Republican debate as long as he’s willing to vacate the premises by Jan. 20, 2013.

That might be the sensible thing to do. It’s hard for a president to win a second term when unemployment is painfully high. If the economy were in full rebound mode, Obama might win anyway. But it isn’t, and it may fall into a second recession — in which case voters will decide his middle name is Hoover, not Hussein. Why not leave of his own volition instead of waiting to get the ax?

It’s not as though there is much enticement to stick around. Presidents who win re-election have generally found, wrote John Fortier and Norman Ornstein in their 2007 book, “Second-Term Blues,” that “their second terms did not measure up to their first.”
