The myth of a "booming" economy that benefits everyone....

How many families are "living on the minimum wage"?

20 percent ..... working families earning the $7.25 minimum wage or below live in poverty,

Characteristics of minimum wage workers, 2017 : BLS Reports: U.S. ...

How many families are "living on the minimum wage"?

You're a fucking illiterate.

2.3%.

I have to hand it to the Trump swamp for their effectiveness in bullshitting a huge portion of this nation into believing that Trump is an economic "genius."

First, few republicans would readily admit that Trump inherited a pretty good economy from Obama; THAT would take some courage and we all know that they're too scared to show a spine.

Second, we have had to increase our huge debt by almost $2 TRILLION to basically benefit the very rich among us getting a PERMANENT tax cut which was used to buy back stock.....and less than 20% of Americans have any dealings with Wall Street.......AND, always remember what Trump told his wealthy friends at Mar-a-Lago after passing the tax scam..."I just made you guys a lot richer"....

Third, despite the rhetoric, wages increases are a damn joke.......with some fiscal quarters showing an increase of .07% and some others at 3%.......Look at it this way, for some families living on the minimum wage, the wage increase boils down to maybe $2 per day.

Fourth, the Feds are being "threatened" by Trump's tweets to NOT raise interest rates although inflation is a looming probability that will eventually hit our economy like an avalanche.

Fifth, the trade deals have been an abject failure, from NAFTA 2.0 to Americans farmers having to be subsidized for their rotting harvests and dairy farmers' profits being cut by 60%.

IF the only praises of a Trump administration is the "thriving" economy during the next election cycle, reality is going to be a real bitch.
New trade deals are going to bring billions to gamers and expand farming.. you might see farming return to cities like they used to

JFK said it, and it is true. "A rising tide raises all boats". If this were the Obama economy would you be spouting these lies? No. You're a lefty hypocrite OP.

I know this will hurt

f this were the Obama economy would you be spouting these lies

Don't be an idiot.........To a substantial extent, the booming economy IS part of the Obama economy.

All that Trump has done is to eliminate checks on polluters and borrowed $2 trillion and give 86% of that borrowed money to give to his rich friends.

Trickle down bullshit revisited.

Fuckhead..........Your citation is for the "middle class" who were ALSO gaining under Obama.....

My post was mostly about those families who earn MINIMUM WAGE.....Get that through your half brain.

You mean the 3% that make min wage that are mostly teens and part time workers?

Who Earns the Minimum Wage? Suburban Teenagers, Not Single Parents

Ohhhhhhh, citing the Heritage Foundation???........REALLY???

The beauty of the American free enterprise system is that individuals can change their socioeconomic status. You can go from being some nerdy Bill Gates loser computer geek, to the richest person in the world. You can be the highest paid Johnny Football quarterback in history, and then be homeless.

A static snapshot of the macro economy ignores the dynamics of an economy.

It is human nature to ignore stuff if it gets a bit complicated.

Trump got rid of the Obama economy when he got rid of the Obama regulations.
This is Trump's economy, make no mistake about that, nat.
Win or fail, it's his economy and right now it's humming along, not staggering.

I guess we will see next year IF farmers in middle America (WI, OH, MI, etc.) agree with the "booming economy"....and if blue collar employees (like in OH's CARRIER) agree with you Trump acolytes.

L
My half-brain says you either didn't read my entire post or you have a serious comprehension problem. Probably a little bit of both.

NO, moron......it is MY O/P that addresses minimum wage families......YOU chose to cite "middle American" families........CLEAR???
Let me hazard a guess you're either a deadbeat and unemployed or you're a minimum wage worker and will likely remain one simply because you have shitforbrains so that's all you'll ever be worth.

You must be the only person in the US still making 6 bucks an hour. Everybody else is making 15 bucks an hour and more. Private businesses have moved on past the archaic govt minimum wage. We get it, you hate everything. You're the victim.

I agree.......Trump DID inherit a good economy.....and next year the judgment will come due if average families have benefitted or not.

If Trump can show families in WI, MI, PA and OH that he is the economic genius....he'll win.........We'll see, won't we?

O had to borrow trillions to prop it up. Trump hasnt borrowed anything yet and the economy soars on past you.

Oh, stop it, you and I know that the Obama economy was starting to fail because of the regulations he put on it.
Trump took over and got rid of them, and the economy began to get stronger, even while the fed reserve was
raising the lending rate from historic unprecedented lows.

Trump plans to add $5.088 trillion to the debt in his first term. That's a 30 percent increase from the $20.245 trillion debt at the end of Obama's last budget for FY 2017. If he remains in office for a second term, he plans to add $9.1 trillion. Trump had promised to eliminate the debt during his campaign.
  • FY 2021 - $1.276 trillion.
  • FY 2020 - $1.281 trillion.
  • FY 2019 - $1.314 trillion.
  • FY 2018 - $1.217 trillion.
Which President Increased U.S. Debt the Most?

oters know what the job market was like under Obama, and what it is now.

OK moron........answer this:

What was the unemployment rate when Obama was sworn in???

What was the unemployment rate when Obama left office?

How far down in percentile has Trump brought down the unemployment rate from Obama's???

So, either the majority of voters are as DUMB as you.....or they will make their own calculations.

Its not the unemployment rate that shows the difference between Trump and Obama regarding the economy. Anyone could have managed the grow the economy after the 2008 "Great Recession". The economy had nowhere to go but up, it went up, no thanks to Obama. What did Obama do to help grow the economy? He stopped all pipeline construction, and imposed Federal regulations that did not permit the economy to grow as well as for other recession recoveries. Obama did not do a good job with Trade agreements, especially letting China take advantage of US companies earning them a $500b surplus a year. How many factories were moved overseas during the Obama term?
Growing the economy after a 10-year expansion is a much tougher nut. Trump is actively managing the US economy, its one area he knows well. Navarro and Lightheizer are doing a fantastic job. It will take time to "re-shore" manufacturing jobs since companies do not move factories due to costs, however, at least Trump is making an effort to increase US jobs. Look at what happened in NYC when Amazon wanted to build HQ2 there, and the dems opposed it. Democrats just don't get economics.
My main point is that democrats and their policies do not work well for the US economy. Voters will decide in 2020 if these are the policies they want implemented:

1. Open borders, tear down the southern border fence/wall
2. Sanctuary cities & states
3. Free college
4. Single Payer Healthcare, aka rationed healthcare
5. Eliminate ICE and DHS, turn the US into the EU, with muslim "no go zones"
6. Promote Globalism, whatever Wall Street wants Wall Street gets, see K-Street Cash
7. Paris Climate Change Treaty where the US pays $trillions to poor countries
8. Stupid trade agreements, e.g tax breaks to move factories overseas
9. Let China run roughshod over the US for trade and intellectual property
10. Let NK develop nukes and ICBM delivery systems, have no one capable of dealing with NK
11. Raise taxes to 70% on the wealthy, especially on corporations so they relocate overseas
12. Opioid problem running rampant across the US
13. Gangs like MS-13 running rampant across the US
14. No steel or mining industries due to foreign "dumping" of subsidized products
15. No new pipelines
16. No offshore drilling
17. The dems' "Central Committee" appoints super-delegates to subvert real voters in primaries
18. Pack the US Supreme Court to promote liberal policies
19. Impeach anyone they deem not liberal enough, like Kavanaugh or Barr
20. Use the Federal Government to punish conservatives, like the IRS and Lois Lerner hounded conservatives
21. Use the Intel community to spy on the opposition party, like Hillary, FusionGPS, and the FBI/DOJ spied on Trump and paid for the phony Steele Dossier
22. Block voter ID laws to ensure fraud, and promote "vote harvesting" to steal elections
23. Refuse to provide funding for border walls/security, which DHS says is desperately needed.
24. Give $Trillions to Mexico and Central America for a Marshal Plan, but not help US citizens living in tent cities
25. Impose gun control, outlaw private gun sales, outlaw AR style rifles, restrict sales of bullets, etc.
26. "Green New Deal" Impose a "carbon tax" to punish anyone who works, heats their home, flies, or has a car
27. Anti-business democrat socialists caused Amazon to flee NYC taking 25,000 good paying jobs to VA
28. REPARATIONS to blacks to pay for slavery, $trillions owed by US voters
29. Promote or excuse the murder of newborns, i.e. "infanticide"
30. Change the Electoral College to popular vote
31. All prisoners get to vote, even the Boston Marathon Bomber, so says Bernie

But you were screaming like a banshee when bush did it, then went eerily silent for 8 years as O tickled your toes, now you're screaming like a little girl again when trump is spending.
