And not just the largest employer but a big reason for the success of Florida's tourism industry as a whole, and in turn that successful tourism industry, and the tax revenue from it, is the main reason Floridians aren't burdened by a state income tax. DeSantis may on the surface win some superficial early battles against Disney and Walt Disney World, but if he wins the war against Disney and significantly changes Disney World to the point where it causes job loss and less tax revenue, then it could ultimately hurt all Floridians in the long run and potentially be the catalyst for political shifts in the next four to eight years. DeSantis needs to be careful how much he wants to hurt a historically solid relationship with a company that is mutually beneficial for Floridians in order to win a momentary political opinion fight stemming from being offended by a company's opinion on local politics.
