The Most Ignorant Line in the History of Man

Post the entire statement and then say that....

The full statement only makes Obama look worse.

It sure does, including his mocking of business owners: IÂ’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart. There are a lot of smart people out there. It must be because I worked harder than everybody else.

There's no law requiring you to like private business owners, Mr President, but we would appreciate it if you would at least stop mocking us.

Thanks.

.

Obama mocks what he doesnt understand. He mocks a lot.

More seriously Obama demonizes everyone who disagrees with him. There is no such thing as honest disgreements over policy. There is only Good and Evil. And Evil must be destroyed.
And libs wonder why Republicans won't work with him.

"If you've got a business—you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen."

Spoken by someone who clearly never built anything.

No doubt this quote has great symbolic meaning for some people. Fortunately they have FOX News and Rush Limbaugh to interpret that meaning for them.

The full statement only makes Obama look worse.

He rambles on about roads and bridges and schools and then says THE RICH should pay "a little bit more" for them.

Because as we all know, only the rich use roads and bridges and schools and should therefore be the only ones to pay more for them...

It's textbook class warfare populist rhetoric.

The rich profit off of our roads and bridges more than the middle class does

If you have a business, those roads and bridges allow you to move goods and services at low cost and increase your profit

Corporations pay road taxes and gasoline excise taxes to cover the entire cost of all the infrastructure they use. Roads and bridges do not justify a single cent in income taxes.

Actually businesses that move goods via roads pay much higher taxes and fees to do so than the rest of you.

"Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that [the roads and bridges]. Somebody else made that happen."

If he were referring to roads and bridges, why didn't he say "you didn't build them"? RoadS and bridgeS - plural. Them - plural. "That" clearly refers to a business - singular. But, as is true with many things that spew from his mouth, obama didn't say what we heard him say, he said something completely different.

I'll humor you and say he was referring to roads and bridges. So, joe-businessowner-taxpayer didn't build the roads and bridges? Somebody else made that happen? Orly? Who? Some other taxpayer? "We"? Isn't joe-businessowner-taxpayer part of the "we"? Yet, obama specifically says 'somebody else made that happen', clearly implying that joe-businessowner-taxpayer didn't make that happen, wasn't a part of it. obama slams the business owner and some of you are just fine with that.

<blink, blink>

He then rambles on, clearly insulting and demeaning business owners' by saying "IÂ’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart. There are a lot of smart people out there. It must be because I worked harder than everybody else."

Sure, there are a lot of people out there who are smart ... and? Clearly the business owner is also smart, smarter if he has successfully started a business ... why does obama insult them, mock them? And yes, others work hard, yet to the business owner who works hard obama smugly implies "so what?". He is quick to give credit to the whole but none to the parts.

obama embraces the marxists, he sought them out!, his mother was a communist sympathizer, he does not believe in exceptionalism for countries, and he clearly does not believe in exceptionalism for individuals.

The rich profit off of our roads and bridges more than the middle class does

If you have a business, those roads and bridges allow you to move goods and services at low cost and increase your profit

why don't you save yourself trouble and simply say...

"I have absolutely no idea how economics works in a free market environment"...

Because your post that I just quoted says EXACTLY THAT

Explain to me how a middle class worker benefits from a transportation infrastructure as much as a corporate mogul does?

Corporate moguls as you call them pay more in fees and taxes to move goods on roads.

Businesses that don't move goods on roads pay more taxes in general than the rest of you.

if those businesses did not exist then you would not only not have jobs but you would have to pay more for roads than you do now.

Where would you people be if there were no one taking risks and starting businesses?

Who would you be working for?

How would you pay your taxes?

"If you've got a business—you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen."

Spoken by someone who clearly never built anything.

It's easy to take a statement like that, standing alone, seem like something it was never intended to represent. But when the full context is revealed, so is the truth.

Here is the quote in its full context"

"Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that [the roads and bridges]. Somebody else made that happen."

Some folks might think you don't know what the phuck you're talking about. But, hey, I know you must not have done due diligence and checked that out properly, right? You wouldn't try to mislead others on purpose now, would you?
So this, in effect, is what Obama said:

If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build the roads and bridges.

Is he that unable to focus? And you, too?

"Somebody invested in roads and bridges."

Hmmm. I wonder who that was?

If you've got a job, you didn't build that.

That = a bridge or road....

Context counts.

He didn't build hem either, neither did you.

The fact is that an individual business pays more towards roads and bridges than any individual taxpayer.

What he says in that sentence is that you didn't build your business.

What he says elsewhere in the speech is irrelevant. Changing the wording elesewhere in the speech in an attempt to backtrack doesn't change the meaning of that sentence.

Context is a word used when someone who misspeaks tries to backtrack.

Besides....I heard the speech and I have seen the words written IN THIS THREAD by an Obama supporter.

Even in context, he said "you did not build that" referring to a business owner.

You calling anyone, including Truthmatters, an assclown is a joke. You arent the biggest assclown douchebag here only because compettion is keen.
We've read the speech. We know the context. We know what Obama meant because his statement wasn't original, it merely copied Liz Warren's, which must have done well enough with focus groups for him to repeat it.
And the thrust is: You didnt build your business because you relied on government supplied schools, roads, bridges, etc.
It is bullshit. It is what someone who doesnt have a clue about business says. It is what someone trying to justify grabbing even more money says.
And morons like you fall for it, justify it, and repeat it.

Sure. That's what he meant.

After all, everybody speaks that way.

For example.....

Joseph Smith hit a foul ball and it hit a fan in the stands. Jim Jones hit a home run but he didn't hit that (the fan). Someone else hit it.

Sure...that was what he meant.

It amazes me how you guys are so easily fooled when the President says something and his speech writers find ways to spin it to minimize the damage.

Like when he referred to Benghazi as an act of terror.

No shit Sherlock...it WAS an act of terror because innocent people were killed by people that wanted them dead for personal reasons..

But it was not what we all refer to as a "terrorist attack"....which it was proven to be after the fact.

You guys are tools.

Now I really gotta say something about the "tool" comment! You have assumed facts not in evidence, Jarhead. From a single post you have me classified, compartmentalized and labeled as an Obama supporter and leftist. That is Pure D Bull Shit! Were you on that other board when I called for Obama's impeachment and trial for willfully violating the War Powers Act. No, and you are clueless regarding my political leanings.

Right is right and wrong is wrong. When the parrots, who genuflect and cling to a given faction, mindlessly repeat that faction's distorted talking points over and over, who is the tool? Is the person who points to the error the one at fault or the one who mindlessly repeats false or misleading BS without investigating the truth of the matter simply because they are following the lead of their faction like a good little sheeple?

Now look at my signature line. Madison was so very correct. That is why I belong to no corrupt faction and am able to think for myself and not be lead around by a Shepard. Nixon settled that for me back in Aug 1974.

Principal: Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Madison: Okay, a simple "wrong" would've done just fine.

WTF are you rambling about? But OK...You're wrong.

Everyone uses roads and bridges. Got that? Everyone.

So if El Presidente wants more money for roads and bridges, then the people who use them should pay "a little bit more".

And who would that be? Hmmmm...

Just rich people?

Nope. Everyone.

Got it now, rubes? Understand where Obama/Warren went seriously off the rails with their class warfare populist bullshit?
