The Most Ignorant Line in the History of Man

That some American businesses find it far more profitable to offshore some of their operations is a direct and unfortunate result of the less-than-hospitable tax environment in which they find themselves here. It is the job of management to maximize profits and asset values, thus providing millions of Americans with a just reward for investing in their companies. It is the same reason so many peeps buy so much (foreign) product from Walmart. Better bang for their buck.

Very well put.

What these people choose not to understand is that a corporation has a fiduciary responsibility to maximize shareholder value, which is the very reason for the existence of a corporation anywhere on the planet. If the corporation breaches that fiduciary responsibility, shareholders can and will sue and will probably win.

This doesn't fit with their simplistic and naive view of the reason a business exists in the first place -- evidently they are convinced that a business exists to put food on its employees tables and pay taxes -- and trying to explain this to them will almost certainly be met with some kind of ignorant and/or emotional response.

But, well put, nonetheless.

Post the entire statement and then say that....

Yabut, if they don't lift PART of a phrase, OUT OF CONTEXT, then they can't lie about it.

As usual, all the right has is lies.

Context and grammar have been explained. Anyone with an advanced degree who has been the editor of the Harvard Law Review certainly was talking about businesses, not infrastructure.

"If you've got a business—you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen."

Spoken by someone who clearly never built anything.

It's easy to take a statement like that, standing alone, seem like something it was never intended to represent. But when the full context is revealed, so is the truth.

Here is the quote in its full context"

"Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that [the roads and bridges]. Somebody else made that happen."

Some folks might think you don't know what the phuck you're talking about. But, hey, I know you must not have done due diligence and checked that out properly, right? You wouldn't try to mislead others on purpose now, would you?

The fact is WE DID BUILD THAT!

The roads and bridges didn't build themselves and the government didn't pay for it out of their own pocket.

Damn, you people are as stupid as the asshat you admire.

We did and we all benefit from it. Which I think was the point.

Don't expect libturds to ever admit the truth. They'll keep repeating lies because they know there are plenty of people out there who are dumb enough to fall for it. Joseph Goebbels taught them well.

And we all have an equal opportunity to take advantage of the infrastructure.

Shouldn't we be yelling "You didn't build anything." at people who have accomplished little but sponge off of taxpayers?

Yes we do.

I tire of government officials that take credit for building bridges, roads and spending government money. They didn't do a damn thing except take taxpayer money and grab a piece of the glory for their programs.

The American people built the roads and the bridges, every businessman is taxed to help fund and build infrastrucure. The fact that Obama takes any credit is absurd. WE pay HIS salary, his job is to serve the American people, not take credit for building roads or bridges.

That may be you point, but I don't think it was Obama's point. I think his point is to cause divisions in this country as he has tried to do so since he got into office.

Opps, I forgot to source that Obama quote. Here ya go.

Settle it how upsetting is it to you to run a government.
Does it piss you off to fund anything else?
LOL
