1. As an exercise in imagination, how do you suppose Paul Revere would have been characterized if all descriptions of him had been written by King George and his Revolutionary War era Brits?
And, of course, that is what has happened to the epitaph and reputation of a man who exchanged his life to warn America.

2. On his birthday......

Joseph McCarthy, in full Joseph Raymond , (born November 14, 1908, near Appleton, Wisconsin, U.S.—died May 2, 1957, Bethesda, Maryland), U.S. senator who lent his name to the term McCarthyism. McCarthy dominated the U.S. political climate in the early 1950s through his sensational but unproven charges of communist subversion in high government circles. In 1954, in a rare move, his Senate colleagues officially censured him for unbecoming conduct.

3. "... his sensational but unproven charges of communist subversion..."
Britannica, as is true of every Left-controlled publication, clouds the truth in the interests of Marxism and neo-Marxism.

Senator Joe McCarthy confronted government officials concealing communist involvement and excessively lax security with regards to Communists in sensitive U.S. Government posts. In many cases he was on target, with over 81 of the names he gave the Tydings committee resulting in resignations or movement of security risks.

Given that over 200 of the spies uncovered in the Venona decrypts were never identified, we can only speculate as to the national security impact of removing Communists from key DoD and State Dept posts. Arthur Herman, author of "Joseph McCarthy: Reexamining the Life and Legacy of America's Most Hated Senator," says that the accuracy of McCarthy's charges "was no longer a matter of debate," that they are "now accepted as fact."

And The New York Post's Eric Fettmann has noted: "growing historical evidence underscores that, whatever his rhetorical and investigative excesses - and they were substantial - McCarthy was a lot closer to the truth about Communism than were his foes."

4. Time and again we hear from government school grads that Senator McCarty "ruined the lives of innocent Americans with baseless charges."
The simplest way to prove what ignorant sheep these Democrat supporters are is to ask for the names of any such "innocent Americans" whose lives were "ruined" by McCarthy......and note the response....

5. "Although his judgeship exempted him from military service, McCarthy enlisted in the Marines and was sworn in as a first lieutenant in August 1942. He served as an intelligence officer for a bomber squadron stationed in the Solomon Islands, and also risked his life by volunteering to fly in the tail-gunner's seat on many combat missions. Those who quibble about the number of combat missions he flew miss the point - he didn't have to fly any.

The enemies of McCarthy have seized on his good-natured remark about shooting down coconut trees from his tail-gunner's spot (an ABC television movie about McCarthy in the late 1970s was entitled Tail Gunner Joe) to belittle his military accomplishments, but the official record gives the true picture. Not only were McCarthy's achievements during 30 months of active duty unanimously praised by his commanding officers, but Admiral Chester Nimitz, commander in chief of the Pacific Fleet, issued the following citation regarding the service of Captain McCarthy:

For meritorious and efficient performance of duty as an observer and rear gunner of a dive bomber attached to a Marine scout bombing squadron operating in the Solomon Islands area from September 1 to December 31, 1943. He participated in a large number of combat missions, and in addition to his regular duties, acted as aerial photographer. He obtained excellent photographs of enemy gun positions, despite intense anti-aircraft fire, thereby gaining valuable information which contributed materially to the success of subsequent strikes in the area. Although suffering from a severe leg injury, he refused to be hospitalized and continued to carry out his duties as Intelligence Officer in a highly efficient manner. His courageous devotion to duty was in keeping with the highest traditions of the naval service."

Paul Revere lived until 1818.

I think you are conflating him with Marathon of Greek legend

Perhaps you can find any error in my homage to an American hero.

No?

You must be one of those government school apologists for the Stalinism that the Democrat Party represents today.

I stopped reading when I encountered the first incredibly obvious innacuracy. Whatevs

No you didn't, liar.

You simply gave up.

So we agree my post was 100% true, accurate, and correct.

Your participation, while unnecessary, was useful.

MacCarthy has been rightfully condemned by history.

Those who support his repulsive smears and accusations also deserve condemnation

Paul Revere was a minor character in our history whose legend was inflated in poetry.
