You had to know this was coming. Amazon Prime installed millions of dollars' worth of solar panels just three years ago. Now with the fifth fire from these systems they have shut them all down. The internal degradation of the panels is to blame and when they light up it's like a giant light bulb filament as they burn..

Roof top solar is not ready for PRIME anything...

Lemme see. If the building is burning down, we blame the loss of solar electric power to the shut down solar arrays to prevent an even worse fire. Let's blame it on the solar panels that have almost zero combustible material in them. Yuppers, true MAGA logic.

I will trust the Fire departments assessment of origin... You got any more hope and pokes you want to make?

Solar cells and backsheets are made of plastic
Thats what you get for having TDS. Good gawd you people are obsessed with him.

Amazon blamed third-party partners and vendors for the most significant problems uncovered by CEA and other teams working on facilities and sustainability initiatives.

“Over the past five years, solar malfunctions have been caused by improper installation techniques, improper commissioning of a new system, inadequate system maintenance and equipment malfunction,” the documents said.

Corners were probably cut, nothing new to see here.

Don't get one then... don't cry about others wanting one.

Please provide a cite to the FD assessment of the origin. Otherwise, you are just gaslighting again.

Plastic requires an outside fire source. And then, mostly, it melts and rarely bursts into flames. It's like believing that a car bursts into flames when in fact, it normally stays in one of 3 locations for a very long time unless you just want it to spread. But you MAGA idjits all think that what you are fed by your controllers and your Orange Idjit is true, and nothing but the truth. Science doesn't come into play.

From their OPS own link.

Problems included mismatched module-to-module connectors, improper installation of connectors, poor wire management and evidence of water intrusion in the inverters, internal documents said.

Issues with inverters, which convert solar energy into usable electricity, were identified as the likely cause of a fire in at least one Amazon warehouse. Wilding, the Fresno fire inspector, concluded the blaze at FAT1 “originated on or near two inverters,”

like going for millions of electric cars when you cant keep the lights on now

We don't have that problem. We export electricity and still have an excess. But since the rest of the nation hasn't thought things through, our electric bill went up in the last year because some lunatics run places with rolling blackouts. The last time I was without electricity was when some moron ran his car into one of the major electric poles and took out about a mile with it. 2 hours later, the lights were back on. But we are now paying for you dimwits that didn't plan ahead and just kept building.

My daughter and son-in-law have a rooftop solar PV installation that's 3-1/2 years old and it doesn't show the slightest sign of deterioration.

And, from your article:

Amazon said that its solar installations will come back online after inspections are completed.

"Amazon also built a team of dedicated solar experts overseeing the construction, operations, and maintenance of our systems in-house to ensure the safety of our systems," the spokesperson said Sunday.

Amazon's operations are already powered by 85% renewable energy and the company has set a goal of 100% by 2025.

Hardly sounds as if Amazon has given up on solar panels.
