10. The Soviet subsidiary, the United Nations, had been a promise of international redistribution of wealth to the Third World, and is still a prime mover in the Global Warming Scam, but had essentially been ended by Reagan and Thatcher at the North-South summit in Mexico, 1981.
BTW, for history wonks, if you go back and study what Reagan imposed on US policy, it is remarkably similar to what Trump is trying to do.... "...economic and developmental aid programs will, themselves, have an increased political coloration." (Reagan's rocky road to the North-South summit)
But....pursuant to the title of this thread....the Soviets also rejected redistribution to their Third World clients "when some of their client states employed its arguments to try to claim economic concessions from Moscow."

11. The Soviet Union itself reversed itself, broke its promises to its vassals when they began to move toward the far more successful ideas of capitalism:

There is no reversing of our party in regards to life and humans. Morality is a benchmark of Liberalism and religion is yours to practice as long as you do not step on my shoes with it. The only thing that is hated is haters most commonly known as republicans.

NYC was based on the Socialized Erie Canal but Canada had better Great Lakes canal sites and for the past 60 years since Canada finished the seaway Albany hasn't been getting unearned revenues to buy votes and elections. The same is true about what happened to the Michigan-Illinois canal.
LA is still a D machine because New Orleans is still the Mississippi outlet to the sea.
The left coast is in the process of losing free money due to the expansion of the Panama Canal. Between fires, floods and landslides getting from the coast to the plains in a predictable fashion is not dependable logistics for most products.
As long as socialism is confined to logistics and infrastructure it can more or less work.
