Another thread on this forum is about discouraging people from investigating facts on their own because knowing facts leads to believing in conspiracy theories. The left don't want people educated, in fact, they want people uneducated so that they can only believe what the Collective tells them to believe. Education messes that strategy all up.

Higher Ed is nothing but a Dem money laundering scheme. They jack the cost of these degrees through the roof, using government to guarantee loans no lender would ever approve, then higher Ed kicks money back to the Democrats. This is why Dems never talk about lowering the cost of tuition which has far outpaced inflation.

I disagree. A college education is not necessary for most jobs. Our high school education system is still modeled to prepare kids for a 1960s economy instead of the future and universities have become diploma mills. We need high school to be focusing on STEM fields, home economics, and skilled trades, and less on college prep.

It is evil when students are taught that the rules, any rules, don't apply to them. Rules create order. The reason the country is in disorder is because several generations, beginning in the 1960's, don't believe in rules.

The definition of "education" deteriorates over time. In 1930, only 25% of the population graduated from HS. The curriculum was comparable to what a state college teaches now, maybe more rigorous when you get right down to it. When I was growing up, my parents emphasized the importance of that diploma, not realizing how little it meant by the time I finished HS in 1967. Today, the Left has destroyed K-12 by making it virtually impossible to fail; indeed, people who want to (and should) drop out are begged to remain, in the interests of the foolish campaign to reduce the HS dropout rate. Initiatives to have a comprehensive, standardized TEST as a prerequisite to graduation is laughed off the table. It would be RACIST, don't you know.

Most State colleges and Community Colleges spend inordinate effort doing remedial teaching, just trying to bring the incoming students up to where they should have been when they graduated from HS. Even if they stick it out and graduate, are they reasonably entitled to call themselves "College Grads"? For most of them, No.

I once perused my mothers 1927 high school yearbook. I was amazed at the high level of the material presented by the students. Easily college level stuff today.
