The last "Assault Weapon Ban" EXPIRED because government studies showed it was WORTHLESS

The fact that the ban was useless in the past, doesn't faze the anti-gun nuts. They see a tragedy and leap to the opportunity to take advantage of someone else misery.

AS ALWAYS with Progressives, results DO NOT MATTER, ONLY WHAT FEELS GOOD AT THE MOMENT.

Studies on effectiveness of the legislation
The Task Force on Community Preventive Services, an independent, non-federal task force, examined an assortment of firearms laws, including the AWB, and found "insufficient evidence to determine the effectiveness of any of the firearms laws reviewed for preventing violence."[25] A 2004 critical review of firearms research by a National Research Council committee said that an academic study of the assault weapon ban "did not reveal any clear impacts on gun violence outcomes."

Agreed. But the progressives don't care about crime control. They care about PEOPLE control. To control people, you must first disarm them.

Here are facts:

From 1994 to 2004 the Assault Weapon Ban did not stop the Jonesboro or Columbine mass shootings nor did it stop any domestic or international terrorist attack.

From 2009 to 2011 the Democratic Party did not attempt to pass any new Assault Weapon Ban and waited until they were out of power to ask for the GOP to do the job they failed to do for those that voted for them.

So with those two facts and the reality that the Assault Weapon Ban would have not stopped the Orlando shooter nor any other attack tell me the Progressive Left is using a wedge issue during another election year to excite the base and sway the ignorant but it never works...

Works great. BTW, your thread title is a lie. ONE non governmental study. They should have 2009-11 but were distracted with ACA and of course only had a month of actual control, dupe.
