The OP is obviously presented by someone with no real negotiation experience.
It's all about POWER. You want your adversary to WANT to make a deal. If they are indifferent, you are working for a futile objective. With Iran, in particular, they have abused Democrats in the past with the knowledge that they - the Democrats - will not walk away without a deal. So they insist on untenable points and make them - the Democrats - look like pussies. Trump, OTOH, tells them up front that he is willing to walk away, taking away that card.
This astounding assault by the IDF forces the Mullahs to take the negotiations seriously. Indeed their very hold on power is jeopardized by this development.
How cool was it that the "61st day" was Friday the thirteenth? What a ******* gambit.
The underlying point that is not spoken often enough is that IRAN HAS NO LEGITIMATE REASON TO ENRICH URANIUM!
Does anybody think they are interested in saving the planet? They are sitting on an ocean of free carbon fuels. Think they want nuclear power? What for?
Nonsense.
Of course Iran has many legitimate reasons to enrich uranium.
One is that the oil won't last more than 100 years, so everyone needs to start building nuclear reactors now.
Second is that the US has illegally attacked and invaded or taken over many countries, proving that all countries need and deserve a nuclear deterrent. The US illegally invaded or took over Iran in 1953, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, Egypt, Palestine, the Ukraine (2014), Yemen, Sudan, etc.
Third is that Israel is illegally bombing, murdering, and otherwise conducting an illegal war against Iran.
