The DOGE looks like an advisory group,probably reporting to Trump with policy on spending. Congress has total authority and responsibility for appropriating and disbursing tax money, and I see no incentive for them to take advise from anyone except their "stakeholders (campaign financiers) as they call them. They could be effective at informing the public about real spending that is hidden in these 1500 page emergency funding must pass monstrosities that no one reads. There is some information available, but no one takes the time to read them, and there are so many versions and mergings that even Congress doesn't know what they are voting on. If Congress would take input in before creating these pork stuffed fuck fests it would be like the line item veto that was taken from the exec, but I can't see this happening. The best that can come of this is public awareness of wtf is really going on, but I think it would be fact checked into submission very quickly, just another 'check and balance' in name only.
