Listening to the lies coming out of the Democrats last night (Obama: "he told everyone to inject bleach into themselves!!!!!.....of course Trump didn't) it occured to me how much we have lost in terms of education and literacy.

Often we forget the imortance of the compendium of words.....the dictionary.

1. This is an anniversary:
On Novemeber 5th, 1857, Three members of the Philological Society, Herbert Coleridge, Frederick Furnivall,
and the Dean of Westminster, Richard Trench agreed to form a committee to study what
words have been left out of the English Dictionaries.

2. It didn't happen quickly...... May 12th, 1860 The Philological Society of London agreed on rules for a project that would lead to the publication of the Oxford English Dictionary. It would come to fruition 68 years and three weeks from this starting date.

3. On Wednesday, June 6, 1928 the Oxford English Dictionary was completed. In The Meaning of Everything, Simon Winchester discusses the English of the time as follows:

“The English establishment of the day might be rightly derided at this remove as having been class-ridden and imperialist, bombastic and blimpish, racist and insouciant- but it was marked undeniably also by a sweeping erudition and confidence, and it was peopled by men and women who felt they were able to know all, to understand much, and in consequence to radiate the wisdom of deep learning.”

4. "erudition"......you may want to look that up. Then compare said erudition of our American children, today, with the above.

5. How has Democratic/Leftist leadership influenced American education:

Over 20 foreign nations produce far more educated students than the American 'education' system.

Academe in the U.S. has been taken over by Leftists, from pre-school through our universities, excepting a very few. One of the intrinsic insidious harms of Leftism is its willingness to abandon truth (and acknowledgement of facts) when it suits a desired political objective.

How can academic excellence be pursued in such an environment? How can order be maintained when the faculty is determined to patronize gender delusions? How can students appreciate the past when it is viewed through the lens of contemporary sensibilities? George Washington had SLAVES, and all that.

God Bless!

Love this post.......so very true.

You and I are on the same page.

In full disclosure, we are a home school family.

Green/renewable energy, does not describe wind and solar which is the opposite of green, free or renewable.

Democrats pick a name or word that is extremely misleading in relation to what the word is attached to.
