Loving Your Children Versus Loving Your Stuff

Some consistently whine and cry yet do not go into the classroom and teach. All the whining and crying isn't going to change a thing. Action...going in with red white and blue pom poms is a start.

"Some consistently whine and cry yet do not go into the classroom and teach."

Yup......they are called "Teacher's Unions members."

Are you saying no one in a teacher's union goes into the classroom and teaches?

"Teachers' unions balk at reopening schools, hurting country and Trump"

The demands at times were simple: get teachers vaccinated, require masks at school (Gov. Larry Hogan did that in a Tuesday executive order), and improve ventilation. Vaccines have been a source of continual frustration. Many protesters objected that teachers find it very hard to find vaccines. In fact, a PTA-like group called MoCo Vax Hunters formed to find vaccine appointments for teachers. According to Montgomery County Public Schools, 5,427 public-school teachers in the county have been vaccinated as of Tuesday.

These things, vaccines and better ventilation, would make things safer for sure. But many teachers went overboard in stating the dangers of teaching.
Now could be the best time upgrade infrastructure. Shovel ready jobs waiting to happen. Why do right wingers have a problem with it?

Make-work jobs are an economic mistake.
Why do you believe that? Are you also against our alleged wars on crime, drugs, and terror as economic mistakes that have nothing to do with the general welfare, and there are no common offense or general warfare clauses.

Because they are not based on real supply and demand in the market place, and only create debt without sustainable growth. They represent the ultimate in employment insecurity.

Upgrading infrastructure means a more efficient economy and lower costs for the private sector. It contributes to the fiscal multiplier.

"Homeschooling Ramps Up in Texas: Families Prepare to Continue Kids’ Education From Home Rather Than Return to the Classroom

The number nearly tripled in just a few months. The reason? Covid restrictions. In early 2020, 4.5% of Texas families homeschooled, but by October that number had soared to 12.3%, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.

Over 72% of those families plan to continue homeschooling their kids this year, according to a recent survey. "

We basically have all the "infrastructure" we need in this country. There are sufficient roads, bridges, tunnels, ports, airports, rail lines and navigable waterways. In a very few cases, population movements have created a need for a bridge or road here and there, but there is no reason why the U.S. government should have any concern about that.

The classic "infrastructure improvement" right now is the pointless high speed rail line between Los Angeles (or thereabouts) and San Francisco (or thereabouts). It is a huge boondoggle that is both unnecessary and grossly overpriced.

Money can be wisely spent to refurbish damaged and worn out infrastructure, but one must never forget a couple of things: Infrastructure is a "black hole." No matter how much money is made available, there will be proponents who loudly proclaim, "That's not nearly enough." Second, very little of it is a Federal matter. There is nothing in the Constitution that empowers Congress to spend my money on roads, bridges, and the rest of it.

"Homeschooling Advocacy Group Reports Significant Increase in Parents Pulling Children out of School

...a “dramatic rise” in homeschooling.

Dr. Steven Duvall, director of research with the Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA), told The Epoch Times that in 2017, it was reported that 3.3 percent of homes across the country were homeschooling.

In 2019, the National Center for Education Statistics released a report stating that between 1999 and 2016, the number of homeschool families nearly doubled from 850,000 to 1.7 million students.

In Spring 2020, the U.S. Census Bureau put out the weekly Household Pulse Survey, results of which indicated that the number grew to 5.4 percent, Duvall said.

Then came the period between Spring and Fall in 2020, when the number of households with school-aged children increased from 5 to 11 percent.

In the Spring of 2021, the number reached 18 to 19 percent before the U.S. Census Bureau eventually adjusted the homeschooling levels back down to 11 to 12 percent of 32 to 33 million households with school-age children, Duvall said.

Though homeschooling has primarily been a trend of the white middle class, Duvall said that number has now expanded into more income brackets and more communities."

This thread really should be about single versus two breadwinner families.

In that case, I would have focused on the exorbitant taxes by the Democrats, which forced both parents into the workforce.

Democrats: The aim is slaves or serfs.

Not forced. It's still about choices.

Ever hear this:

Try making either one a choice.

Taxes are an issue. One of just several issues. For most families it takes two full time parents just to hang on. This started in the early 80s. Kudos to those who can stay home with their kids. Sacrificing is fine, but not being able to afford medical care, clothes, food in many cases doesn't make it possible unless the breadwinner is making a much larger than average salary. Our church has quite a few younger married couples who are childless. They are career focused. The Sunday school enrollment had been declining while our congregation is slowly climbing. Our pastor put a notice in our bulletin Sunday schoolis half of what it was 10 years ago. Times are changing.

Yes as long as there is enough money to survive on. Most people won't choose to live in squalor so it takes 2 in most families

Taxes.

The confiscatory regulations by the Democrats to support the illegal aliens that they are counting on to vote them into office in perpetuity.

Taxes are an issue as is a plethora of other things. Wages are and have been a major problem as well. They're bad. Have been for years.

So open a business and solve the wages problem.

I'm certain that one with your constellation of skills and acumen will be an instant and immense success.

But don't give up the day job.
