There were many poor and oppressed folks in the nation at the founding. Folks that look like those folks don't continue to belabor the point.
That fact is, that world wide, at the time of the founding, there was no such thing as an abolition of slavery.
The impetus for that came from the Bible and enlightenment thought that originated out of Europe.
