The Greenland War of 2026

NATO nations were not contributing their fair share. Thankfully Trump corrected that. They were not capable of preventing anything and probably still would not be if it were not for the U.S.
did Trump get NATO to pay their fair share in his first term of president?

NATO did not go to Afghanistan. A few NATO countries joined us. Denmark and Norway were not among them.

Please check your facts before posting.

"Failures of the NATO-led coalition efforts to end the Afghanistan insurgency "

I thought it was a bit weird, as NATO is supposed to be a defensive pact. But the US claimed that it had been attacked, so NATO needed to get involved.

Not all NATO countries participated, Bulgaria didn't, nor did Croatia, Finland, Iceland and maybe some others, but a lot of NATO countries did.

This thread is hilarious. Donald Trump has made the left ready to go to war to support kings and colonialism. Greenland Even though Greenland was given "home rule" by Denmark in 1979, it's still part of the colonialist Kingdom of Denmark, which manages its foreign affairs, defense, security, and monetary policy.

Any day now, Lesh will be changing his avatar from the Uke flag to this one.. :laughing0301:

Yeah, no. :nono:
Look, Denmark isn't protecting their own country, let alone a territory multiple times larger. No.
Explain to me when Russia has shown even the slightest interest in annexing Greenland

Sure he doesn't care.

Trump links Greenland stance to Nobel Peace Prize snub

7 hours ago — U.S. President Donald Trump has linked his aggressive stance on Greenland to last year's decision not to award him the Nobel Peace Prize, for having stopped 8 Wars PLUS, I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of Peace.”

It concluded, “The World is not secure unless we have Complete and Total Control of Greenland.”

Russian strategy has been to divide Western Europe from the U.S. and break the NATO alliance.

NATO has been a sinkhole for American taxpayers for 60 years.

Back in 1948, there was a reason for American taxpayers to defend European countries devastated by a war they started.

But Europe is all grown up and don’t need to live of Mom and Dad’s money anymore.

Time for Europe to pay its own way and send their own sons and daughters to war.

I wonder how disappointed Trump is going to be when someone finally explains Mercator projection to him and he finds out Greenland is nowhere near as big as it looks on maps

So has Israel, but republicans give them billions each year.

Germany invaded them.

They did, for us after 9/11.

Are you talking about the Cold War?

Because WWII had been going on for years before we got involved.

From the Wall Street Journal:

For more than 75 years, the fondest dream of Russian strategy has been to divide Western Europe from the U.S. and break the NATO alliance. That is now a possibility as President Trump presses his campaign to capture Greenland no matter what the locals or its Denmark owner thinks.

Mr. Trump on Saturday threatened to impose a 10% tariff starting Feb. 1 on a handful of European countries that have opposed his attempt to obtain U.S. sovereignty over Greenland. The tariff would jump to 25% on June 1. Presumably this tariff would come on top of the rates Mr. Trump already negotiated in trade deals last year (10% for Britain, 15% for the European Union).

The targets are Denmark (which owns Greenland), Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Finland and the United Kingdom. All participated in a recent military exercise on the world’s largest island that was intended to reassure Washington that Europe wants to work with the U.S. to defend Greenland from Russia and China….

No one should underestimate the shock his Greenland project is producing among allies. Along with his tariffs and his tilt toward Russia against Ukraine, he is alienating Western Europe in a way that will be hard to repair. It’s true that Europe may not be in a position to resist if Mr. Trump really wants to go to war over the island. But say good-bye to NATO.

The sad irony is that China and Russia may be the biggest winners, though Mr. Trump justifies his Greenland necessity in the name of deterring both. Canada’s Prime Minister bent the knee to Xi Jinping this past week, and Britain’s PM is heading there this month. The EU and South American countries have struck a big free-trade pact...

*******************************

I’ve said it many times but Xi and Putin have to love Trump. Even the WSJ now acknowledges that Trump is doing the work of our adversaries. I don’t know if the evil that Trump is undertaking can ever be undone. The reputation of the US is shot.

The reputation of the US is now just like Trump’s: Unreliable, lying, chaotic, bullying, and most of all untrustworthy.

Who the **** believes anything Trump negotiates? He makes agreements and disregard them on a whim. Just like he did with his contractors. Just like he did with his so-called trade agreements. Why deal with Trump? He lies and his word is trash.

I have no doubt Trump wants to invade Greenland, whether he does or not, will depend on whether there is a cabinet member that can get through to him, which I seriously doubt.

Forget the Pub Congress. They are just Trump’s eunuchs.

Say goodbye to the US as we knew it. We are on the way to pariah status.
😄.. great article but your TDS section was a tad too dramatic..

Trust us to do what? Fight their wars for them?
I know what you mean.

First there was Korea, that first war they fought for you..oh, that's right..nothing to do with Europe.
Mind you, then there was Vietnam, another war you fought for them - oh, again, another war that you didn't fight for them. And you lost.
Let's talk about 1982. The Falklands War! Whoops. My bad. The US had nothing to do with that either. Just one UK aircraft carrier that kicked the Argies arses.
Let's fast forward to Gulf War 1. A joint venture in which everybody won! Well done.
Let's talk about the last two wars the US fought (which weren't really for Europe were they?). Iraq and Afghanistan <sarcasm - you and I both know jnr started those 'police' actions> . Whoops! Wrong again. They were both US wars. One in which the US and its ALLIES kinda won. The latter - well, once again, the US left with its tail between its legs.

Pray tell Eman...what are you talking about...loser... :dunno:

TDS is quite bad. Nowhere near as TIMK (Trump is my king) or TWS (Trump worship syndrome) is. You do know he couldn't give two flying ***** about you? You do know that, right? Pahleeze say you know that. I don't wish to think you are an utter blithering idiot moron.

Even if we could buy it at $2500 an acre, you are still talking about roughly $3T we don't have. I guess he could get "mexico" to pay for it by raising tariffs to 1000%

Glad to see we agree. Anyway, back to Greenland and NATO.

NATO may be a defensive pact, but it's not to defend America. America's geography and military might make it unassailable with or without NATO.

NATO was always meant America will defend Europe against the USSR. Well, the USSR doesn't exist anymore, America is less interested in spending its wealth to defend Europe, and Europe is taking the hint and finally building up its own military.

Having said that, I don't support the US unilaterally taking Greenland. We already got all the bases there we want. We don't need the headaches of running the island too.

What happened to TACO? The left spent several cups of coffee telling us that Trump always chickens out. Which was bad. But now he might actually follow through, which is also bad. For reasons.

Reason No. 1) He likes to grab pussies
Reason No. 2) He's misogynistic
Reason No. 3) He disparages those who actually served
Reason No. 4) He's a con artist
Reason No. 5) He's Epstein's best friend
Reason No. 6) He wins bigly all the time

I could on. Great reasons to support him Lumpy.
