Christianity has been every bit as militant as Islam.

What is amusing is that before WWII, it was the Christians that treated the Jews like garbage, and the Muslims who were relatively nice to you, until you screwed them.

Yes the crusades were violent but they occurred to repel the Muslim invaders from Europe. The crusades occurred mainly in Europe, unlike Muslim Jihadis who attacked the whole world.

You see all religions as one type of fruit, so to speak, rather than as the assorted types in the fruit bowl they are.
To you and many 'Leftists' religions are all apples of different outer skin colors and slight difference of flavor, but still "apples".

To those of us who have studied history more, and also the diversity of cultures and ethnics, we realize that religions are not all the "same fruit".
Key differences in scriptures, dogma and theology make religions more like a basket of assorted fruits. While some may be variations of apples; many others are oranges, or lemons, or bananas, or grapefruits, or pineapples, etc.

So in this analogy~metaphor, I see Christianity (in general) as a sweet apple while Islam is a sour lemon !

To counteract the lie being pushed by antisemites on this thread, I bring up the reasons why the Greater Israel project is being twisted to drive more hostility toward Jews:

1) Israel has always offered land for peace, thus willing to reduce its area, but the Jew-hating Palestinians have always rejected the offers.

2) Any increase in land mass (now currently 0.4% with Arabs taking 99.6%) has been a fraction of a percent and driven by security concerns - not expansion.

3) Those who are claiming Israel’s war on Iran is driven by this “expansion” myth ignore that Israel never had any plans to take any part of Iran.

4) In 1979, Israel returned the entire Sinai Peninsula to Egypt.

5) In 2005, Israel vacated Gaza. (And look at the thanks they got.)

Wait, guy. The Crusades had nothing to do with Europe. They occurred because the Pope, Urban II, wanted to do something really big to distinguish himself from the rival Anti-Pope, Clement III, whom the Germans were putting up.

If anything, the Crusades weakened Europe's defenses, as they did more damage to the Byzantine Empire than they helped it. Particularly, the Fourth Crusade, which overthrew the Byzantine Emperor and tried to impose Catholicism on an Orthodox land.

So you suck at history AND geography.

Nope. See above. The Crusades were a publicity stunt by a politically desperate Pope.

Now, if you want to talk about who the bad guys were in the Crusades, compare what the Crusaders did when they took Jerusalem (where they indiscriminately slaughtered most of the population in 1099) to what Saladin did when he retook it (Let most of the people live, ransomed the higher-ranking Crusaders, and let them go.)

My understanding is that New Testament(Christian) abrogates and takes precedent over Old Testament (Jewish). OT is more an historical account than a prescription for living, IMO.

I also had several years of Catholic education. I noticed they didn't do an objective presentation on other forms of Christianity, or other religions.

Islam claims to be the next version/official word of Gawd, also "Of The Book(OT & NT)".

I've yet to find anything in the New Testament where Christ said same or similar;
