The Border Police officer involved in this incident was immediately relieved of duty. She was convicted of physical assault, reckless use of weapons, and obstruction of justice. Two other officers were also convicted of obstruction of justice. For clarity, the ammunition used was a non-lethal, crowd-dispersal round. The victim did not sustain injuries. Still, this was an act of evil. I condemn it.
