Neubarth
At the Ballpark July 30th
Alarming Title, but I like the ones that make you think.
Having lived in California off and on since 1958 when I was ten years old, I have seen it turn from a conservative state run by transplanted Okies
Okies, Dust Bowl Migrants from Oklahoma & the Plains on the city and county level to a state run by liberals who had no idea where the money was to come from for the grandiose Socialist schemes.
About a week ago California admitted that it had to cut more Billions off of its budget because the tax revenue simply was not there. As the unemployment continues to increase (Forget about the Federal numbers as they are all lies.), the revenue continues to fall and fall. Ironically most of the Socialist Welfare provisions are not being cut because the liberals have grandfathered many of them, so the liberals are cutting education funding to the school districts. That is so damn ironic, but it is a reality. Most of the money for sports will be cut next. No more high school football in many of the districts will be the norm rather than the exception. The exceptions will be the districts that still have Okies in charge, even if they are second or third generation.
My home town from ten on was Escondido. Okies ran everything. They were the mayors, the principals, the police, the small grocers, the small businessmen, and most of the coaches in the community. Escondido was known for fielding the hardest hitting teams in the Forties, Fifties and Sixties because the coaches insisted on that as the team trademark. Our schools won the regional championships as it was expected. I have traveled the country and, based upon my experience in attending high school football games from coast to coast, I always tell people that if I was blindfolded and taken to any part of the country to listen to a high school football game, I could always tell when I was in Texas or Oklahoma because of the impact that one would hear at the line of scrimmage.
Escondido High is on its way to another football championship again this year, but I have listened to their games, and they are not hitting at the snap of the ball like they used to. The Okie influence has finally worn off. Shame that. Those were damn good people.
Now, with all the liberals screwing up things, it is all going to hell. We need to rewrite the State Constitution to throw out all the recent "state constitution revised" mandated socialist programs. We simply can not afford them. The other forty nine states will have to take millions of Californians once we stop all the socialist welfare paid for by the state. The immigrants out of the state will not be as hardy as the Okies were coming into the state in the Thirties. We got some damn good hard working people who were of good breeding stock. I am sorry to tell you other states that we will be sending you a lot of people who only qualify as free loaders who think Socialism is a birth right. I think we will hold on to our Okies. We will need them. Damn Straight People.
