The GOP record on taxes and debt

You are going to be real popular, you blasphemer you. Put your helmet on. Personal attacks coming.

Simple enough. What were tax rates when Reagan entered office compared to when he left
They'll never answer the question.
And a link to DailyKos is an automatic fail.
It's funny Democrats have to dig up dirt that's over 30 years old to make any kind of case. Meanwhile they've spent the last 8 years raping and pillaging the Treasury, failing to pass a budget in any of those years and shutting down debate on anything meaningful.

I am waiting for a link to refute the article.....waiting....waiting......waiting.....

Come on Staph! I know you got one!

Democrats: Tax and spend.

Republicans: Borrow and spend.

And people say they see no difference between Republicans and Democrats!

1.Reagan was a serial tax raiser. As governor of California, Reagan “signed into law the largest tax increase in the history of any state up till then.” Meanwhile, state spending nearly doubled. As president, Reagan “raised taxes in seven of his eight years in office,” including four times in just two years. As former GOP Senator Alan Simpson, who called Reagan “a dear friend,” told NPR, “Ronald Reagan raised taxes 11 times in his administration — I was there.” “Reagan was never afraid to raise taxes,” said historian Douglas Brinkley, who edited Reagan’s memoir. Reagan the anti-tax zealot is “false mythology,” Brinkley said.

2. Reagan nearly tripled the federal budget deficit. During the Reagan years, the debt increased to nearly $3 trillion, “roughly three times as much as the first 80 years of the century had done altogether.” Reagan enacted a major tax cut his first year in office and government revenue dropped off precipitously. Despite the conservative myth that tax cuts somehow increase revenue, the government went deeper into debt and Reagan had to raise taxes just a year after he enacted his tax cut. Despite ten more tax hikes on everything from gasoline to corporate income, Reagan was never able to get the deficit under control.

The immortal RR raised taxes seven times and the debt ceiling 17 times. So, how does this square with the low taxes, low debt GOP stance.
Proving once again how dim you are? How many years does it take for you to learn simple things? Reagan lowered taxes a lot and raised them slightly as he couldn't get the Dems to cut their spending.

Look at who held the senate and what it did to our budget over the years. Liberals have to lie about everything.

Democrats: Tax and spend.

Republicans: Borrow and spend.

And people say they see no difference between Republicans and Democrats!
Some do, but there's a lot of idiots out there. The Dems don't borrow? When Republicans try to cut spending Democrats scream about starving babies.

Of course Dems borrow. That's what deficit spending is, and they both do it. Republicans just don't want to pay for it, and Democrats think they can keep spending because they still have checks in their checkbook.

Tax rates 1979 vs 1988
You can't rest on the laurels of your ancestors who were your betters, tard.

Non Sequitur.

Tax rate comparison 1979-1988 destroys the OP.

That's a lie. Republicans want to cut spending like any of us would if we got in over our heads.

Progressive hate Reagan for borrowing and debt but Fluff Obama for adding more debt in one single year that all of Reagan's entire Presidency

LOLz

Morons

Morons and Fluffers

And now RR's policies are turning lower and middle income America into the indentured servants of the super wealthy. What a travesty!

If the GOP is such a tax and spend party why doesn't the radical left like them? Either the radical left is lying or twisting reality into a pretzel. If republicans are as bad as the radical left claims how bad are freaking democrats?
