You know, the dictionary definition of the word uppity doesn't even mention the term in relation to blacks until the word origin/history section. The use of the word can be equally applied to any person, regardless of color. Equality!
Barack Obama is uppity, Nancy Pelosi is uppity. Again, because of their actions/attitudes towards others not because of their skin color. Al Gore, he's another uppity one. Yeesh, is he ever.
