As the year 2015 rapidly comes to its end, maybe this is a good enough time to think a little bit about the future.

Changes are forever. Things turned out not what be what we used to imagine the future would be.

Which -- of the many matters in our lives today which we find to be crucially important -- are the things most likely to change in the near future?

Example:

When many Americans have developed the possibly orchestrated belief that the Constitution is too outmoded for any further use, and given population explosions going on all over the globe, what are the prospects for the United States to maintain its position as the defender of liberty?

If the Republic unravels, what kind of government or social structure will take its place?

Are there enough citizens out there able and willing to stand up against the forces of some of these changes?

What will our future look like, say, 20 years from now? How about a hundred? Are we still ascending or this ride about to become hairy on the descent?

IDK but I am faking me and my families death and moving to the mountains.

Hmm, random thoughts:
  • 20 years, probably something similar to a Euro-social democracy
  • America no longer the dynamic economic force in the world
  • Major advances in medicine - cancer and Alzheimer's treatments especially
  • Life span expectation for infants maybe 120 years
  • Technology has us using clean energy or damn close to it
  • Nanotechnology allowing for all kinds of crazy shit I can't imagine
On and on. Technology is such a wild card, there's just no way to know how fast things will progress.
.

Over the next 20 most of the crazy right wingers will take up residence in nursing homes/die off.

Divisiveness and dissent will fade and the country will be more unified. Much progress will be made.

Not many people think 45 year old mens piss splash getting on a 4 year old girl is "progress"
BTW, LWNJ, you lefties are just as much if not MORE divisive than the right. How many of you dumbfucks have threatened to kill trump for having an opinion?
Or what about dear leader sending aids to a criminals funeral before the facts even came out?
Be real

In 20 years, the immigration catastrophe created by Senator Edward M. "The Great White Whale" Kennedy will have come to full fruition, as the majority of voting Americans will be either dependent "minorities" or first and second generation immigrants with no skills, no education, no work experience, and a vast wealth of demands for the governments that they elect.

The Global Warming hoax will be a fading memory (like the "Y2K Bug") that kids in school will be taught as an example of adult foolishness. 50% of the U.S. population will have a 4-year degree, which will be worthless.

Half the nation's churches will have been converted to condo's or trendy restaurants. 50% of all employed Americans will work either for government or in healthcare - which will be essentially socialized.

The "middle class" will constitute about 30% of the population, with 15% being quite wealthy and the other 55% living either from paycheck to paycheck or on the dole.

The Yankee's payroll will top One Billion Dollars, and they will still be mediocre.

The obesity pandemic will have been turned back through miracle pharmaceuticals that either hinder digestion or curb the appetite.

Most of our energy will still be generated by burning some form of carbon; for India and China it will be 70%.

Israel and the Palestinians will still be duking it out, but the land available for the Palestinian State will be less than one acre. The rest will have been assumed into the Israeli state.

The supreme leader of Cuba will have the surname, "Castro." The "Embargo" will still be in place, as will GITMO.

The unity of passive gray acceptance. Uniformity for the sake of uniformity.

Now THAT is one depressing vision of the future.
