The Founders of our nation (USA) never intended "separation of Church & state" as we know it..

Nonsense!

The very first words of the U.S. Constitution make it VERY clear that the U.S> government is a secular government:

"We the People...Do Ordain"
Just about every government that existed before the U.S. laid claim that their King or Queen were ordained by God. Kings were 'ordained' by Bishops or other high ranking clergy. To this day, the King of Great Britain is also the head of the Church of England. To go against the King was to go against God.

The first words of the Constitution were a clear refutation of any association between Government and Religion.

The Bill of rights goes even further to say that the Government will make "no law respecting an establishment of religion", making the separation of Church and State absolute.

Unfortunately, our government has violated that amendment by making law recognizing religions and allowing the tax free status.

But, if you were a Christian, none of that would bother you since Jesus made it clear that Government and religion should be separate when He said: "Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and unto God the things that are God's"

If you were a Christian, you'd know that.

In early American societies of control, one could be executed for speaking against the English king, so there was definitely Hitler-like coercion going down (Seidel, The Founding Myth).

But the State Agent knows that there is no god to render anything to in the first place.

recognizing a religion means nothing,, and you dont tax something thats a right,, otherwise its not a right,,

The article is pure BS.

Just because secularists haven't strictly enforced secularism, does not mean that the original intent of the writers of the Constitution did not intend this to be a secularist government.

Intelligent people have known that the country is full of religious nut cases, and have catered to them way too much.

But after all, if you were a Christian, you'd strong support a secular government as Jesus preached.

What part of "Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and unto God the things that are God's" don't you understand?

You have the right to believe what you want, you do not have the right to run an organization that functions as a business without paying the same taxes as all other businesses.

The article is part of the official "Library of Congress." It's as official as you can get.

By the way ... you have a bunch of Christians to thank for your Constitutional freedoms and rights.

tell that to the progressives that created the progressive tax rate,,,

every company pays the same tax rate and every person pays the same,, except the rich pay more,,

the only reason churchs operate as a business is because the government forces them to,,,

maybe we should have a tax to vote to make it equal across the board

athiest always confused me,, they dont worship anything so how can they exist??
The fact of the matter is that atheists must exercise a faith in their beliefs. They must have faith that God does not exist. They have to have faith that man can fix the world's problems. They are a religion even if they deny it.

Perhaps many of the people you call athiests are actually deists and agnostics.

As a Christian no one has ever interfered with me saying or believing anything.

That is only because you belong to the majority.
What if you were Hindi, Moslem, Bhuddist, Zoroastrian, etc.?

And as a Christian, you should be against all laws that impose without defending anyone else, like Prohibition, the War on Drugs, etc.
You should also have been against all wars that were not defensive, which is all wars since 1812.

ha ha... I'm going to tell someone from the enemy camp ...

anything...

all leftists are in that category

The bible says you should be rejoicing if it is happening, instead you are whining and hiding like a little pussy.

how embarrassing for you.
