The Florida law prohibits abortions after 15 weeks, with exceptions if the procedure is necessary to save the pregnant woman’s life, prevent serious injury or if the fetus has a fatal abnormality. It does not allow exemptions in cases where pregnancies were caused by rape, incest or human trafficking.

Violators could face up to five years in prison. Physicians and other medical professionals could lose their licenses and face administrative fines of $10,000 for each violation.

incest and rapes on the rise, if they weren't before the law changed.

The issue I have with this is that doctors will now be compelled to explain their medical decisions to government authorities absent the complaint of a patient...

In all honesty, I don't think the incidence of rape and incest are dependent on whether or not the victim would be able to obtain an abortion. That's actually pretty silly if you think about it...

15 weeks gives you plenty of time to figure it out if you want to abort or not in cases of rape or incest.

And human trafficking is a new one.

This is probably a good time for you to reconsider Trump, instead of Desantis.

At least Trump wouldn't force you to have babies. :laughing0301:

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report said about 2% of the nearly 72,000 abortions reported in Florida in 2019 were performed after 15 weeks.

Tramp use to be ok to have an abortion. DeSantis is no good.

Again, plenty of time to figure it out, and there are exceptions built in cases of threat to the mother's health after. How many of those 2% were elective and how many medically required? The medically required ones will still happen.

This is what compromise looks like, and what a majority of the American people support.

Despite this, I still think DeSantis would make a remarkably good President should he decide he wants the job...

Prostitutes are professionals ... they know how to use all the other forms birth control ... we're targeting the amateurs here ...

2 weeks after the sex act ... the girl should be suspecting she's pregnant ... no flowers after 4 weeks and she better be using an OTC pregnancy test ... because if it's negative, she needs to see a doctor right away ... otherwise, and without any further interference from government, she can drop by the local "Bed, Bath, D&C and Beyond" ... no appointment necessary and no questions asked ... this would be doable as a routine method of birth control even in Texas ... not perfect but what method is? ...

15 weeks give the girl two solid months to be a Drama Queen ... [sigh] ... the heathen worship some truly strange gods ...

Then what's the issue? How many of the 2% were raped? That very small % would need to decide prior to 15 weeks if they want to keep the child of their rapist.
